Went to Korbua and Matthias's wedding. What a joyous occasion! Korbua was beaming and so happy. Korbua and her sister, Korkaew, are our kids' ballet friends growing up. So, at the wedding, not only that we were there to congratulate the wedding couple and their families, it was a very big ballet girls' and ballet parents' gathering as well. So happy for you and Matthias kha, Korbua! So wonderful to see all the beautiful ballet girls and their families again! 🩰🩰👯👯

Cheers to growth! 🥂

These were taken in June of 2018 a month after I graduated college and a few months after I was on my knees in a stairwell, hysterically crying after one of the biggest let downs of my dance career. Many know that story and it undeniably shaped the woman and artist I am today.

That low moment of feeling shame, rejection, embarrassment, and a myriad of other not so good feeling emotions were necessary on my journey. I was forced to re-evaluate who I was as an artist and what I wanted. I’ve grown SO much as a person and dancer since that experience and my path still hasn’t been easy but every hiccup is a redirection closer to what God intends for me.

I’m still working on my relationship to dance and my career, but my college self would be so proud of my growth.

As artists, we choose movement because it’s a form of expression that fulfills us to the core. If you’re going through a rough season, remember why you do what you do. The person in front of the room doesn’t get the last say of whether you continue sharing your gifts. They don’t get to shame you into feeling bad about yourself and they definitely don’t get to write your story.

Also, I just had to zoom in cause 😂😂
