“Dance is life, you can never be angry when you’re dancing” - Chris Gill, Northside Records

A feast of funk featured at last Sunday’s @move.my.way.festival at @pica.melbourne, where @freshlysqueezedjazz host Tom Eclect was on the scene to sus the vibes and explore why movement is so important to our wellbeing & mental health 🪩💛

We spoke to some of the festival-goers to get a first-hand insight into why they feel this was the case, spending time at the @northside_records stage (where the @tribe_soundsystem bass-boosted the experience)

This stage was the perfect choice to supplement the festival, with Northside’s Chris Gill giving the above quote on festival headliners @ezracollective’s studio album “Dance, No One’s Watching”, which led us to explore this idea in further detail on the scene!

We certainly feel the moves didn’t disappoint and everyone was in fine form on a funky, sunny Sunday ☀️

& as always,
Keep it Fresh

September was a month for the books as they say! Briefly met one of my idols, Timmy Regisford… My love @saithh_____ and I’s first anniversary as fiancés! And, my first upstairs @angelmusicbar set among many other memoriessss 📚

October looking gorgeous as usual as we head towards summer. 🌺 ☀️🍃 Playing at a few new spots & parties which im just honoured to be hit up about. I remember 2-3 years ago it was a struggle to find my spot in Naarm so i guess the hard work, digging, & practice is paying off and im super grateful ❤️

Super proud of where @burnin.mp3 is at the moment too. Will be taking a lil break while we plan something really special in 2027. 🔥 and will give me some time to finish music and put some records out (finally)‼️

See you there ? It all kicks off tomorrow with @emil_.lp Debut LIVE SET for Machine Funk at Milneys.

About last Friday night… 🪩🪩🪩 huge thanks to all those that rolled through for our 11th Edition at @drmorsebar . It was all about dancing, laughter and connection which you could really feel by the end of the night. A party you don’t want to end. 💗

Big love to our DJ’s and performers - @mamacitabonnita set the evening up perfectly with some mid tempo soul & deep cut bangers for @spinnod & @libertyellaa to launch off of. The duo played a mixture of house classics, deepness, and own productions - it was nothing short of stunning dancing to live soulful vocals mixed so well in a DJ setting.

The crowd really filled in by 10pm-ish and it felt like a warm, gorgeous cauldron of get downs in front of that booth. @theremedyman & @juliusmyles_ brought the night home with a back-to-back that really couldn’t have been any hotter. ✨

Lastly, just a special thanks for @christineroopah aka AUNTY for rocking up at the start of the evening, staying until the very end, and making sure everyone had their dancing socks on! Providing some lessons to a few of the younger crew aswell. A true naarm icon.

See you soon? ✨💗✨

Endless love,
Burnin’
