Tabdeeli (Changing Landscape)
111 × 72 in | 9.25 × 6 ft
Acrylic, Oil & Fluid on Canvas, 2026

This painting began in Hampi (India), during my first weeks of looking at the landscape around me. The sunflower and marigold fields, the changing sky, water channels and distant hills became points of observation during my time there. I was particularly drawn to the way water moved through the landscape and how the changing light altered the colour and atmosphere of the fields.

The small formations of birds became another way of thinking about movement across the landscape. I began incorporating fragments of Urdu text into these formations, treating the words not simply as language but as part of the rhythm and visual movement of the painting. Phrases such as آشکِ شمس (Ashk-e-Shams), آسمان (Aasman) and رَواں (Ravaan- Flowing) emerge within the work, connecting sky, movement, water and memory.

The climate crisis is personal. The response must be collective.

With extreme weather events on the rise and global temperatures shifting, protecting our environment isn't just an idea—it’s an urgent priority for our cities and our future generations.
This year, aProCh is proud to partner with Ahmedabad Cultural Week (ACW Ed.2) to turn climate awareness into community activation!

Through ACW Ed.2, cultural spaces across Ahmedabad are coming together to shed light on:
- Global warming & fossil fuel impacts
- Deforestation, land exploitation & pollution
- Sustainability, carbon neutrality & protecting biodiversity

Mark your calendars for two powerful sessions at the Sabarmati Riverfront (Lower Promenade):

October 25 | Visual & Interactive Session by Artist Bhanu Shrivastav

October 30 | Movement & Performance Session by Dance Artist & Activist Penny Chivas

Culture has the power to spark conversation, and community has the power to drive change. Let’s come together along the riverfront to protect our environment and build a greener tomorrow!

Check out ACW page for schedule highlights, more interactive sessions, and location updates.

A big thank you to Sakshi Art Gallery @sakshigallery for bringing us the remarkable art of Rekha Rodwittiya Ma’am. Her monumental portraits, rooted in simplicity yet carrying immense presence and impact, are truly phenomenal.

On the other hand, Charandas Jadhav’s bold interpretations and honest expressions offer a powerful and deeply personal artistic experience. You can view his works at @nippon_gallery_bombay

I was also fortunate to visit Gallery Maskara and witness “The Immortality of Soil” by the Lakshmi Nivas Collective, a thoughtful and compelling show. Rooted in their lived experiences of rearing and herding farm animals.
Moving between intimate observation and the larger rhythms of the landscape, the exhibition traces encounters between humans, animals and the earth.
Three distinct artistic voices, three different experiences, each leaving its own impression. I’m glad I could witness all three exhibitions in one day. A day filled with art, reflection, and inspiration. A day truly well spent!

Winter Maghrib 1
Acrylic, oil and Laser Engraving on Torched Wood
45.7’’ x 191.3’’ in
2026

Winter Maghrib, draws from memories of winter evenings in my village, where the fading Maghrib azaan, shifting light, and the movement of birds create a moment of quiet transition. Through this work, I explore how landscapes hold traces of memory, belonging, and the passage of time.

A glimpse of 'Memory Keepers', a group Show at Sakshi Gallery, Mumbai, held in February–March 2026.
