Each individual I met through a different set of circumstances, and each has shown me the diversity of Torontoโ€™s artistic community. Every artist brought a unique perspective and approach to creating, often drawing from their experiences, culture, and environment to craft their artistic identity. While this collection represents only a fragment of Torontoโ€™s vast artistic landscape, it marks the beginning of a long-term documentary journey - one that will continue to explore the intersections of identity, space, and process. Each artist was asked to provide their shoot location based on where they do the most work โ€” whether writing, recording, or creating in any other medium. Ranging from home studios to rented spaces tucked above suburban strip malls, from bedrooms to public third spaces, each artist invited me into their world and shared insights about their process and feelings surrounding their art.
