October 5th: STORIES WOVEN IN BLOOM arrives 💕🫶✨🩵 9am PT, Monday, Oct. 5th @eighthgeneration Via @nativenewsonline: “The NDN Girls Book Club and Eighth Generation are bringing together Indigenous art, storytelling and literacy through a new blanket collaboration designed to celebrate Native communities and support Indigenous youth. The “Stories Woven in Bloom” blanket was created by artist Jenabah Yazzie in collaboration with the NDN Girls Book Club and Eighth Generation. The 100% wool blanket features artwork inspired by Kiowa and Diné motifs and centers on themes of storytelling, kinship and coming together.” This collaboration is part of a broader effort to support literacy and representation by increasing access to Indigenous stories, art and literature for Native youth and communities. It also creates an opportunity to celebrate Indigenous voices and encourage young people to see themselves and their communities reflected in the stories and artwork around them. #ndngirlsbookclub #eighthgeneration #nativemade #nativelit #weneeddiversebooks

It’s a bird… it’s a plane… no!! It’s Book Club! 📚💕 ✨📚 Thank you Utah Navajo Health System x Navajo Mtn. Community Health Center for having NDN Girls Book Club at the annual Teddy Bear Clinic 💕💕 it was amazing seeing all the babies and students coming through and getting to fill their backpacks with books and back to school goodies. They then got to do a health checkup with brand new teddy bears— and the bears got checkups too! Families also got to tour the health clinic, meet the clinicians and the whole team, and even tour the helicopter that flew in from Page, AZ. ❣️ Ahxéhee’ to all of the partners who created such a wonderful event. We were able to share all of our Diné language and Indigenous-authored books 📚 ❣️ More books will be stocked at the clinic’s little library VERY SOON, so please stay tuned! Friday, July 31st— Trailriders and hikers arrive, dinner Saturday, August 1st— Festivities begin in the morning: horse races, foot races, and more. 6:30am Festivities begin 8am Community bike ride, registration @ 7am 12pm Honor Parade NDN GIRLS BOOK CLUB will be giving out free books during Ééhanííh Day festivities with Nihizaad Nizhoni + the Harold and Stella Drake family by the Veterans’ Tent. 💗✨🌈💗✨🌈
