Congratulations to @lbtbeachpatrol for taking first place in the 2026 Newport Invitational Lifeguard Tournament!

Last week brought the biggest tournament surf in over 20 years. Competitors swam, paddled, kayaked, and rowed through hundreds of yards of stacked short-period waves, with clean-up sets reaching up to 8 feet.

We’re proud of the grit, fitness, and water skills that every team showed in tough conditions. These are the kind of days that our guards train for, and we love the opportunity to test our skills in proper surf lifeguarding conditions.

Stay tuned for event footage 🎥 (Photo by Michael Day)
