Ah this was so much fun! I can tell already that this is going to be a great series.
Emeline was such a great FMC, I do love a leading lady with an attitude, and Em with her sailors mouth and her lack of respect for those who hadn't earned it definitely fit the bill.
Arsen was a delightfully complex character and it was so interesting to uncover more of his past as the book went on. As protective as he is defensive, he is definitely a contender for your next book boyfriend 😉
A large amount of this book is about grief and managing it and I think this was done brilliantly. It didn't shy away from Emeline's grief about her lost pregnancy but it also never felt like it was forced in, it fit the rest of story perfectly.
The author themselves have spoken about how they have struggled with their own pregnancy journey so the way this topic is handled is brilliant as it comes from someone who understands exactly what it feels like. And whilst not everyone has experienced this specific loss, I think the way the author writes about it could help anyone who's experienced any type of grief.
This is such a wonderful read and there is the potential for an incredible series here, I can't wait for the next book

🐉🔥 A Devil So Wicked by A.S. Keeper

Thank you to @netgalley and @sallowskeeper for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Almost immediately, our FMC, Emeline, is thrust into a world of demons, fae, and dragons, where grief and an unexpected connection take center stage.

This is definitely a slow burn with plenty of banter, hilarious moments, and an irresistible dragon named Samael who absolutely steals the show! 🐉 His conversations with Emeline had me laughing and added some much-needed lightness to a story filled with loss and heartache.

My favorite part was the connection between Emeline and Arsen. Both characters struggle with feeling unwanted and never quite belonging, and their shared sense of loss adds an emotional depth to their relationship that I really appreciated.

✨ A slow-burn fantasy with banter, grief, found connection, and one seriously entertaining dragon! #bookrecs #dragon #pregnancyloss #romantasy #bookstagram

Ad/gifted ARC

Thank you to @sallowskeeper for letting me have this arc via NetGalley. Nevertheless all opinions are my own.

Magnificent banter, pop-culture references from Jensen Ackles to Monty Python, and a fearless, vulnerable Emeline who covers her darker emotions with even darker humor: this book had me giggling like a lunatic. Beneath all the fun and laughter, though, it handles some heavy themes, including depression, pregnancy loss, and trauma, and it does so with real care.

Let’s talk about the cast. A Devil with a caffeine addiction, who smells of fresh rain. A sarcastic dragon. Banter to die for. I could go on, and I rue the day I pushed this one back on my TBR. Past me has a lot to answer for.

A fair warning for the consent-conscious: Emeline lists a startling number of non-consensual deeds that need to be addressed in the future. Licking (for healing). Blood-drinking (for healing). Non-consensual cuddling. Apparently the last one is the real crime.

My favorite exchange:

„Dragons hold grudges.“
„How would you know? You’re the only one of your kind.“
„Exactly. So I make the rules. Idiot.“

And honestly, Emeline’s logic is hard to argue with: she would have made any bargain with the Devil if he looked like Tom Ellis.

Release day is November 4th 2026, put it on your TBR, if you share our love of Jensen Ackles😉, when you have already a read it, drop me a line, I need to talk!

I really enjoyed this book! Thank you to @sallowskeeper for writing a really interesting take on fae. Thank you to @netgalley as well.

Emeline is the human FMC and she's been dealing with a loss in her life when everything changes.

Arsen the MMC is a centuries old Fae that's dealing with trauma of his own.

We've got tropes like:
Found family
One horse
Enemies to Lovers
Dragon sass
Medium burn

I will be looking forward to book 2!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Read! I really liked the banter with the FMC and MMC. It made me laugh! I loved the Jensen Ackles references 😆

Spice was probably about 🌶🌶 and it was finger licking good! 🤣

Wow, what a ride. This book was thickk at over 600 pages. And it’s packed full of trauma, healing, fantastic character growth, tension and hilarious banter.

Please check the triggers on this one, it covers some sensitive topics. But it’s done with such care and I commend the Author for that.

If you love tropes like:
🖤 Feminine Rage
🗡️ True enemies to lovers
🖤 Possessive MC’s
🗡️ Trauma and healing
🖤 Forbidden Love
🗡️ Magical Creatures

Then this one is perfect for you!

Check out my thoughts on slide 2 & 3 and the full review with spoilers on Goodreads.

Thank you to @sallowskeeper and @netgalley for allowing me to arc read this book 🤎🫶🏽

Book blurb:

When a mysterious ship rider joins the crew of the Serenity, wanting to sail into restricted waters, Emeline knows something is wrong. But she doesn’t discover what until it’s too late.

Arsen Seaspire, the Second Prince of Haven, is tasked with guarding the Veil. When he spots Emeline onboard the Serenity, she catches him off guard. Gifted with the ability to wield fear, Arsen finds that Emeline doesn’t know what her worst fear is. She’s been in a fog, grieving from an early loss and struggling with her trauma. Saving her from an accident at sea, Arsen makes it his own personal mission to discover what she’s truly afraid of.

Together, they navigate her grief. As tensions build between them and secrets unravel, they discover they’re not so different after all. Grief and trauma don’t discriminate. However, the fae do, and humans aren’t allowed to step foot in Haven.

What will happen to Emeline when Arsen and the fae realm begin to feel like home?

What will happen to Arsen when falling in love with a human is considered treason?

Today marks the anniversary of a profound loss in my life. Us readers may read fantasy, but the themes and messages are often very real. Very relatable. I've found that they offer a pathway for coping, healing, and creating my own narrative. I am grateful for the courage and vulnerability of authors to write about grief and loss through their characters and stories. I see you, and you make a difference. Keep going.

To say that I am so incredibly proud of @sallowskeeper is an understatement!

Ever since she has been posting about writing her own book and self publishing it, I have been following along her self-publishing journey (and loving it) and I cannot believe I have her book in my hands! Also the art?! Oh my godddd, it’s so amazing! One piece of art that is included in the bundle is not shown cause it’s NSFW but what i will say? ITS HOTTTT

So proud beyond of you Alyssa! I cannot wait to get book 2 and I cannot wait to see what is in store for Emmeline and Arsen in book 2.
