Meet Mr. Spiva!

In 1958, George A. Spiva helped to found @spivacenterforthearts in Joplin. He was a businessman, philanthropist, and…you guessed it: art lover 🖼️ 🤍

His granddaughter, Gay and great-granddaughter Sally serve as members of the Friends of St. Avips and carry his legacy on.

Yesterday’s forecast expected rain alllll day… but guess what came instead? SUNSHINE ☀️

Thanking Jesus for @sallycurrence — a bride who was full of absolute grace and love as I encountered one of the scariest moments of my life with Joe being rushed to the Emergency Room an hour before we expected to shoot her wedding 😪

After a long day of shooting alone, I heard the good news that Joe was okay and I’m just beyond glad to have a hubby still and an amazingly graceful bride who cared more about Joe’s wellbeing than him holding a camera yesterday. 🙏🏼

Can’t believe we have 2 weddings left - I guess you could say we are making a dramatic exit 🤪

What makes the perfect backdrop for your engagement photos? Obv the place you’re getting MARRIED 🤩💫

Why?! 👇🏼

- You get to recreate amazing moments on your wedding day!! 🥹

- This gives your photographer the perfect opportunity to scope out the venue before the big day to know where prime shooting locations are!! 😍

- Most property in town is privately owned or lots of photographers will be shooting at the same location and time, so it’s perfect to use a totally secluded location where you can guarantee no one else will be there! 🤫

- You’ll have a place to change outfits so you’re not scrambling in your car! 😂

- If it’s raining, no need to reschedule since you can use inside the building 😱

These are only a few of the many great reasons to take advantage of your wedding venue as much as possible 💃🏼

Can you think of anymore?

This is Joplin businessman and philanthropist George A. Spiva. He was an art lover, and in 1958 he helped found @spivacenterforthearts. Both Mr. Spiva’s granddaughter Gay, and great-granddaughter Sally are on the @friendsofsaintavips committee, continuing his legacy as Spiva continues to grow and thrive!

The impact a gloss can have still amazes me! Summer season is over, and I’ve been dropping her formula the past two appointments to align with the seasonal change. This appointments lineup:

Roots: @joico 4N w 5vol.
Gloss: @joico 5WC, 6NWB and 5N w 5vol.
