BIG STORIES BEGIN WITH LITTLE READERS

Children from Salma Safe Hands School joined us this morning at the Festival Village for a storytelling experience by Ayikwa Publishers.

The session was followed by readings from Things Fall Apart by a few of the young participants, alongside a tour of the Festival Village.

We introduced them to the festival theme, and the questions it raises about our names, the identities we carry, and our right to define who we are.

The conversations continue this evening!

Puberty is a journey, and every child deserves accurate information, a safe space, and trusted adults to guide them.

I had the privilege of facilitating a session on ”Puberty and How to Handle It” with the amazing Grade 6 pupils of Salma Private Schools, The Safe Hands.

Through separate and combined sessions, we explored physical and emotional changes, personal hygiene, and building healthy self-esteem—equipping these young students with knowledge, confidence, and the assurance that growing up is a beautiful process. 🌹

My sincere appreciation to Salma Private Schools for the invitation and for creating opportunities that support the holistic development of children.

To the wonderful Grade 6 students, thank you for your enthusiasm, thoughtful questions, and active participation. I found you truly interactive, exceptional, and eager to learn. May you continue to grow in wisdom, confidence, and character as you navigate this exciting stage of life.

Because informed children become confident adolescents.
