At the start of October, I headed to Upper Crane Lake in Haliburton to enjoy the Fall colours. It was breathtakingly beautiful, no people, and the weather was perfect! Hope you enjoy my next adventure, as much as I did.

Looking really good as teammates matching… Don’t you think?… We love, Love, LOVE OUR @salusmarine lifejackets!! They modified a great extra strap and shaping for Mobility all maximizing in this jacket … It is above and beyond all the other jackets and bonus to zero compromise to feeling and being safe, safe , safe Coast Guard approved … because we haven’t shared the story but we’ve definitely capsized and so we know our lifejackets are not just to be sailing legal. I’ve even attended a lifejacket clinic with Clagett and we tested all kinds of lifejackets. Can’t stress enough how much I highly recommend Salus!!! Big shout out to our Salus family! Very proud to be wearing gear from our awesome supporters, @suzukicanada @clagett_sailing @californiainclusivesailing @sailcanada @gillmarine #sailtowin #sailingforall #unstoppabletracy huge appreciation for the photos #GonçaloMelo / @velasolidariasailing @worldsailingofficial ⛵️

It's a busy day today at Sojourn Outdoors with a big yard sale and the specials are over the top. There's lots of helpful staff on hand to help you with the right fit.

Nova Craft Canoe is on display along with a full wall of Salus Marine Wear PFD's to fit the family.

Sales are on for today, Saturday and Sunday so don't miss out on this one!!!

The gear I bought for a fall canoe trip. With cooler night and traditionally unpredictable weather conditions the shoulder seasons require a little more thought (in my opinion)

While travelling by canoe it’s important to consider the worst case scenarios and to be prepared for any situation from inclement weather, first aid emergencies, gear failures, and canoe related incidents.

Could I have cut down on few extra items? Maybe but I like to sleep well, fish as much as possible, know I won’t run out of food and enjoy myself.

Did it suck to double carry it in 5km portage…absolutely!!

My wife & I challenged ourselves to cover some distance on this trip.

- 42km dusted
- 14 portages
- 1 moose carcass
- 6 beaver dams
- Only 1 pair of sunglasses gone

Tested a lot of new gear, recipes, and quietly celebrated 2 years of engagement (and just over a year being married).

The trip was something, but it pales in comparison to this incredible woman.

The Ungava from Salus Marine is a great PFD for our canoe trips, with pockets for snacks, sunscreen, compass and lash points for a knife or whistle. The fit is comfortable and sometimes feels as if it's not even there. Check out their website for full specs.
