We are thrilled to announce that VIEWFINDER, our latest supernatural horror short, will make its world premiere at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival next month! 🩸🎥
So many wonderful creative people were enthusiastically involved, and the product of that team effort is what we hope will make the festival audience laugh, cry, and SCREAM. Bringing this story to life was an absolute labor of love, and we couldn’t be more excited to premiere it right here in NYC.
👁️ See you in October! 📍✨

Indie film isn’t just for rich kids with bad taste. When filmmakers have to throw their life savings just to direct one short film, they don’t get the opportunity to hone their craft.

As the film festival system becomes ever more captured by corporate interests, and young filmmakers are increasingly incentivized to put everything they have in Hail Mary shorts, it simply becomes harder and harder to get the hours in. All that at the cost of experimentation, solidarity, and joy. Very cringe.

That’s why we’ve been hard at work on our MICROSHORTS series. We’re keeping the scripts concise, the crew small, and the shoots short, so we can get our reps in, giving ourselves room to kick around the place and see if we can knock something loose.

It’s a free country after all, says it right there on the box.

We’ll be screening all our shorts in this series during our SUMMERFEST next summer, pairing them with punk concerts, political organizing teach-ins, raves, and whatever else the man doesn’t want us to.

Raw Daisies Microshort #1

After a delirious 72 hours, there’s new art in the air.
Clay—so proud of the way you’ve navigated your latest work. You approached dark material with a light heart, and the result is something truly haunting.
Grateful to our incredible crew and our band of brave, chillingly good performers.
More to come soon… but for now, I’ll keep it vague and spooky. 👻 #indiefilm

I’m feeling grateful and encouraged by what my amazing team were able to help me put together for this little project. Based on the images I’ve seen, soon enough we’ll all be back on set making the feature. Thank you to every single one of my tight-knit cast and crew for showing up ready to play, and for embracing the dance that is independent filmmaking. Emily Bennett, Nick Fondulis, Jonathan Beebe and John DeBenedetto, you each brought a passion for the material that made my job even more pleasurable. Harrison Kraft, Danny Rinaldi, Sam Lasiter, Brendan Laird and Aimee Kuge, thank you for being a well-oiled machine as crew and ensuring that every shot counted. Ashley Thomas and Alex Solorzano, your Makeup FX are scarily realistic, and yet you made that enterprise morbidly fun. Special shout out to my wife Asta Paredes for helping to run the ship, because she believes as much as I do that all of this effort is worth it in the end.

Stay Tuned….
