2026 Transfer Guide - Gold Coast Titans

The Titans new coach Josh Hannay has cleaned out the locker room with a mass exodus of players from the Top 30 and reserve grade squads 🧹

A clear plan for the roster is forming, with major resigning news of their young stars and added depth to the top flight squad. Hannay now just has to fit all the pieces into a winning puzzle 🔥

Sam Stephenson’s promising young career was cut short far too soon due to a serious injury. Fortunately, players like Sam don’t face that sudden change without help from the game.

The RLPA’s Past Player & Transition Program is there from day one, helping players adjust, stay connected, and access the range of benefits entitled to them.

Chris McQueen, one of our incredible Player Transition Managers, recently caught up with Sam to offer guidance and ensure that he’s well supported by the Past Player & Transition Program through his next chapter and beyond.

Queensland Rugby League extends its best wishes to Sam Stephenson, who has medically retired at the age of 19.

Though his career has been cut short, Stephenson made the most of every opportunity provided to him. Winning the Mal Meninga Cup with the Tweed Seagulls in 2024, Stephenson would go on to represent Australia later that year in the Australian Schoolboys side, scoring in the 47th minute against the junior Kumuls.

2025 would prove to be Stephenson’s brightest year yet, debuting in the Hostplus Cup for the Tweed Seagulls and scoring eight tries in nine appearances. Stephenson would also play superbly in the Under 19’s State of Origin, propelling Queensland to its first ever Under 19’s State of Origin victory.

All the best for your future endeavours Sam ❤️🙏
