Good morning from artist Sam Keller ( @sam_big_gulp )

An artist that I am in love with

For many years now I have been drawn to Sam’s work.

Engaged by the comedy and execution of Sam’s political and social commentary on America , consumption of goods/media , waste , etc.

For me the subject matter is something so heavy it seems nearly impossible to make light of.

Sam defies that logic with his execution of sculptures that embody a dynamic strength of both comedy and tragedy without being too campy.

These aren’t clown paintings of the president, he made ornate cheese gak and showed it inside of a garbage can which happens to be a serious curatorial project known as @95gallon ..The work is so poignant that a simple minded viewer like myself understood at a glance that I was looking at the White House.

I was glad to catch the closing of ‘Keller and Keller’ at @sittingroomgallery last night, sorry to have missed @uhaul_gallery / @95gallon ‘TEMU’ fever dream, not for lack of trying in the rain on Saturday. I wish that I was in TX for ‘Aftertaste’ at @marthas.atx which looked superb.

I am excited to watch Sam continue to develop his language.

Thanks to all who visited us on Friday afternoon and evening at the U-Haul Art Fair @uhaul_gallery. It was an honor to show the work of Sam Keller @sam_big_gulp across 95 Gallon and our new project space KALLAX (we fancy it a mega gallery: 12 white cube galleries, 3 floors, no stairs). Grab exclusive works and merchandise from this exhibition at our online store. Link in bio. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Temu United States with @95gallon
Checkout both shows and let us know what you think!

Keller & Keller, a post-humous collaboration between artist Sam Keller @sam_big_gulp and his late uncle & self-taught artist Richard Keller in a multigenerational exhibition of found-object & collage artworks.

Keller & Keller explores an unconventional collaboration between Richard and Sam.

After discovering a portfolio containing hundreds of Richard’s intricate magazine and newspaper cut-outs for collages never realized, Sam found an opportunity to explore the inextricable connection between them through a new, yet-to-be-seen body of work of collages.

In addition to collages, Sam is presenting a collection of Richard’s brooches crafted from detritus from the streets of Paris alongside a new series of Swarovski-encrusted Can artworks- Sam’s most recognizable work.
