We got another one graduated!

We’re so incredibly grateful for the love and support from friends and family. It was an incredible weekend. We are truly so blessed.

Now for a nap.

Senior Sunday.

Letting you spread your wings more and more is causing me an incredible amount of anxiety. But you’re worth it. Love you, bub.

And an E1 in the USCG this Fall.

Basketball gave him incredible confidence and broke his heart, both at the same time. But we’re so proud of who he was, who he is, and who he will be, on the court or the sidelines, on land or at sea.

Give it hell, #22.

And if the gut punch of Samuel’s final basketball game wasn’t enough. Today, Samuel watched Oliver play basketball for the last time as a kiddo.

Samuel has decided to go to the Coast Guard. He will leave sometime at the end of the summer or early fall this year. And as I have become painfully aware of, there are no coastal waters or Coast Guard bases in Central Texas.

Oliver and Samuel became incredibly close over the last year. Samuel is so proud of Oliver and O thinks Sam is the coolest person on the planet. O is an incredibly talented athlete because of the years he spent watching Abigail and Samuel play sports with their whole hearts.

Samuel made it to almost all of O’s games this year and screamed for him like a lunatic. It meant the world to all of us.

I’m a mess today.

I woke up this morning and realized, I only have one baby left to drive to practices and games. Just a little while longer of road trips and sweaty socks, and teaching the importance of losing with grace and winning with humility.

I’ve never been a “just wait until…” kind of mom. I love being a mom and there are so many more positives to parenting than negatives. But I will say it today. Just wait until there’s nothing left to complain about. Until the last buzzer buzzes and your graduation invitations arrive in the mail, in the same week, and you realize - your home is about to be exponentially quieter. Just wait. I have done it twice now and it breaks your heart.

I am so proud of the Badgers. Yes, they’re an extremely talented group. Quite honestly the best high school basketball players I’ve ever seen come through Lampasas High School. But beyond that, they’re incredible people. Role models. We have men going to the military, civil service, MIT and A&M. A group of kids who closed a tough chapter last night but have HUGE bright futures ahead.

We’re all a little sad today. But we’re also overwhelmed with pride and gratitude. And those three things often co-exist. Thank you, Jesus, for this life.
