$“Bagnante” (Bather) (2020). Oil, oxidation and transparent varnish on welded steel plates, 60x80 cm. I like figures “in between”. Figures who leave an open range to interpratation. The “Bather” could live a moment of relax, as from a typical scene of everyday life, or feel astonished, lost, as from a Shakespearean tragedy. I painted a pending moment, a reflection, a fear surfacing, or an insignificant moment that precedes a total change of thought, another truth emerging. Technically it had been fun combining the oil colors with the oxidation process, the sanding of the body underwater, the different varnishes which made me create the effect of water with a glossy look, while the rest of the painting is matt. It’s been also fascinating to see, in the lower part of the painting, how some elementary lines turned into a delicate tangle of dusty traces, making visible the invisible through the oxidation process (the last picture shows the initial state of the painting, in 2020). Swipe to see various pictures (n.2 thanks @nicola.gnesi_studio and 3 @samar.abostate ) and videos: particularly a little glimp of work in progress, with “dreamscape” music of my dear friend @aseretmusic The painting is shown until the 18th June at @accessogalleria in Pietrasanta for the “Season Opening” exhibition (which you can find on @artsy website too {link in bio}) Once again, thanks to my lovely friend @elisaseitzinger for being such a wonderful and inspiring creature 💖 💧 🧊 🌊 #artoftheday #figurativepainting #artgallery #experimentalart #contemporaryart #sabatinocersosimo #artexhibition #instaart #paintedwoman #portaiture #retrato #realisticart #womaninart #waterinart #galleriaitaliana$
