Over the summer, I started teaching a group of 10 girls a beautiful Garbo that I had the chance to perform when I was younger. The song is “Ek Jaad Mathe Jhumakdu”

I’ve loved sharing the traditions of performance Garba with them, from singing together, working on our footwork and clapping, to learning to look at our hands through each step.

What a gift it has been to teach this to them! I can’t wait for them to share this piece with everyone at @garbaraasnight! ❤️

Celebrating Asians and witnessing Asian men making a meaningful impact in the world is deeply inspiring—especially because growing up, I didn’t have any Asian role models to look up to. Here’s to rewriting the narrative and paving the way for the next generation. Honored to be witnessing these amazing individuals. Thank you @unforgettablegala @getgoldentv @optimistak888 for paving the way
