Throwback to the beautiful feature in @wallpapermag Wallpaper* magazine, where @lauramaytodd highlighted Beirut designers and their stories of resilience, creativity, and perseverance.

It was an honor to be featured alongside such a talented group of fellow designers and to share a glimpse of Beirut’s vibrant creative spirit.

Many thanks @wallpapermag and @lauramaytodd for the thoughtful article, and to the talented @tanya_traboulsi for the beautiful photography in Ramlet Al Bayda.

Em Sherif cafe a Paris, opened earlier this year in May 2025.
Designed by Samer bou Rjeily, think orient meets brasserie: arches and columns, patterned details, wraparound banquettes, bistro chairs, the warmth of wood and ceramics, and features Lebanese artists.
It blends the warmth and hospitality of Lebanese tradition with the elegance and structure of typical Paris.

@wedesignbeirut kicks off at the iconic Roman Bath ruins in the heart of Beirut — celebrating the city’s creative pulse through the works of incredible artists, with marble presented by @stonesbyraniamalli . From @dianaghandour_studio , @claudemissir.interiors , @carlgerges @dorihittiarchitects @samirhakim , and many more — so inspiring to see Beirut once again embracing its cultural and artistic spirit. 🇱🇧✨

DON’T CALL IT REUSE.

(Fragmenta: the revival of lost forms)

🇱🇧 There is a sense of renewal in Beirut these days, a current of creative energy that reflects the city’s wider cultural and political reawakening. We felt it first-hand during our recent visit to the Lebanese capital for the inaugural exhibition of @thisisfragmenta, a new design initiative dedicated to giving discarded stone a second life. Conceived by @nournajemdesigns and @guilaineelias, with interior designer @gregorygatserelia serving as co-curator, the project brought together 49 Lebanese and international designers who were invited to create new works using fragments of marble that had been sourced from @najemgroupco, one of Lebanon’s leading marble and stone manufacturers. Staged inside the company’s Beirut workshop from 18 to 25 September 2025, the exhibition not only tackled the question of waste whilst spotlighting Lebanon’s long-standing expertise in stonework, it also echoed the reality of a country that has learned, time and again, how to rebuild from what has been shattered.

Last week, we were joined in Beirut by designers, journalists, and guests of Fragmenta (@thisisfragmenta) for the opening of The Revival of Lost Forms. The event offered an intimate first look at a visionary new design initiative by Nour Najem (@nournajemdesigns) and Guilaine Elias (@guilaineelias), curated by Gregory Gatserelia (@gregorygatserelia).

Presented within the walls of the Najem Group factory in Beirut, the preview unveiled a selection of pieces that reimagined discarded stone fragments—offcuts, broken slabs, and archival remnants—as sculptural and functional works of design.
