If you had told me six months ago that my life would be changing for the better, I wouldn’t have believed you.

If you told me just three months ago that I would be called up to play professional baseball with world class athletes, I would be in complete shock.

As a call up, this season hit different. This season wasn’t guaranteed for me, and came as a complete surprise. I spent most of the year thinking that my time was over, and that all I would be moving forward was a coach who ALMOST made it, but never fulfilled their dream.

However, on July 29th (my actual birthday) @mattwilliams.9 called me up to play for the @wpbl_firebells , and the rest was history. That single phone call changed the trajectory of my entire life, and I cannot express enough gratitude to Coach Williams for taking a chance on me.

I have made so many memories, created new friendships, and most importantly, was given another chance to play the game I love. I truly can’t put into words how much this experience meant to me.

The journey here was not easy. In the last year since the draft, I have experienced rejection, the loss of people who meant the world to me, and loads of self doubt. However, I believe that the challenges and struggles along the way made this all the more worthwhile and rewarding.

Thank you to the @wpbl_firebells for an incredible inaugural season and to my teammates and coaching staff for welcoming me with open arms. What was once an impossibility became a reality, and while I’m not sure what the future holds, I am forever grateful for this life changing experience.

It’s hard to put into words how much this season, this team, these fans mean to me.

I kept thinking to myself throughout the season, “how lucky am I?”

How lucky am I to get to play baseball everyday?
To have a professional league come to fruition during my playing career?
To happen to be drafted to this team with unbelievably talented teammates and coaches, who aren’t just great at baseball, but have become great friends as well?
To look into the stands and see fans who drove, flew, and travelled from far and wide just to watch us play?
To have an employer that took a leap of faith, allowing me to take a three month leave of absence to play baseball?
To have a partner that was okay with holding down the fort alone this summer?
To have parents who not only registered me for baseball, but encouraged me to stay in the game for so long?

To everyone who made this season possible, thank you for giving me an experience I’ll never forget.

Did I mention that I love this team? I hope we get to share the diamond again and continue accomplishing big things together 💜
