Game Day! And, it’s our FINAL regular season home game💫

Tonight we will face off vs @freddyfreezemwba 7pm at Harrison Trimble High School. There is a lot on the line for playoff ranking, so we hope ours fans can come out to support us and cheer us on! 🎉

🎗️It’s a special evening as we will be raising funds via the 50/50 for the Angel Fund. The Angel Fund supports women with transportation to and from chemotherapy treatments, wigs, prostheses, food coupons and so much more. It offers women with breast cancer the opportunity to live more comfortably, with dignity and improved emotional health. It gives them the financial support needed so they may focus, simply and solely, on fighting cancer🎀

We will welcome two MWBA Teams of the Day! The HTHS Varsity Lady Trojans and NXT Level U12 Girls!

Thank you, @annikabell_ for putting together this reel 🔥

🏀 THEN vs. NOW: Moncton Hawks to Moncton Mystics 🏀

As we gear up for MBA Day at our upcoming home game this Saturday, let's take a nostalgic journey from the Moncton Basketball Association days to the present Moncton Mystics roster! 🌟

Up first, Kelly Vass (#7) and Samia Amadou (#11).

Kelly fondly reminisces, "The Moncton Basketball Association holds a special place in my heart—it's where my basketball journey began. From the friendships made and all the fun, the MBA is where I fell in love with this game. Seeing young MBA players in the crowd is so special; I was once in their shoes. Thank you, MBA, for supporting us and helping ensure there is always a space for women to keep playing and for young girls, including my two daughters, to have female players to look up to".

Samia reflects on her journey, saying, "Competing and bonding with Moncton Hawks teammates fueled my passion for basketball, keeping me dedicated to the sport through thick and thin. Despite challenges, I persevered; basketball shaped me into the resilient individual I am today. Encouraging coaches nurtured my potential from a young age, instilling in me the belief to strive for improvement year after year. The Moncton Hawks not only provided a platform for basketball but also fostered lifelong friendships—I'm proud to have been part of it. Basketball has remained an integral part of my life ever since."

🏀 ‼️ Mystics Player Signing ‼️ 🏀

We are delighted to announce that Moncton’s very own Samia Amadou has signed on for her first season with the Mystics! 🎉

Background: Hailing from Moncton, Samia attended Moncton High School from 2019 to 2022 before making the move to play for Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU). The Mystics’ team name will be no stranger to Samia, given it bears the same team name as MSVU. In 2023, her team captured the ACAA championship, and in 2024, Samia was honored as MSVU’s Most Improved Player of the Year!

Samia’s Words: “I am incredibly grateful and excited to join the MWBA league with the Moncton Mystics. With two years of university basketball experience under my belt, I am eager to learn from this amazing group of talented players. Our chemistry from the exhibition tournament already has me feeling optimistic about the upcoming season. I look up to my teammates, and I hope to contribute my skills to the team’s success.”

Let’s give Samia a warm first-year welcome to the Mystics! ✨
