As the leaves change and the crisp autumn air rolls into the mountains, the best @redrocksco show window opens up. For many years now, @therevivalists have made a tradition out of their yearly stop at the rocks. This year, however, was a particularly special one as theier headline shows total rolled into double digits. Ahead of the show and block parties that rounded out the weekend, @therevivalists reached out to us to help them design and brand a newspaper magazine to celebrate the occasion and potentially (👀) kick off a larger series. this past year I had the honor of taking the reigns on creative for the new @therevivalists record. beside these eight fellas and the team at @c3mgmt / @itsreahlykatie, we were able to build something real special for the guys. ‘get it honest’ is the best and most complete revs record to date, and I feel very blessed to have put my stamp on it. 🫶 kicking off revs tour with @redclaystrays today. @studio_daybreak

I see @thedavidshaw from @therevivalists most mornings at my local coffee shop. I can't recall how we were introduced, but we've done our fair share of talking since. I always have a pile of work in front of me, which interests David. And I'm always curious to hear about his family, alchemy, and music. We started talking about the band's new album, Get It Honest, before they even got in the studio, and I promised I'd nudge @c3mgmt and @concordrecords about doing something together, if the stars aligned. While I had David, I asked about the title. He said it reflects the Southern phrase "I get it honest," which implies you come by a trait, quirk, or habit naturally. You didn't learn it, you were born with it. Those traits can be positive or negative, and the phrase sorta exists as an absolution. Oh, I can't help it, I get it honest. @anneblenker and I are currently traveling Nova Scotia to unravel our own family's Acadian history, curious to learn about past traumas and triumphs we have inherited. It's all fascinating. To address honesty in a digital activation, we thought about making fans take a lie detector test. It's a concept I've chased in past projects that never saw the light of day, and I was excited to approach it with fresh eyes and technology. We've landed on an Honest Detector at getithonest.com, which asks several questions then determines if you're being honest. First, it looks at the movement of your eyes, head, and body. 47 today. Funny how one year can change you more than decades. I’ve spent nearly three decades touring the world, became a mom young, chased a few wild dreams, and somehow this past year has been one of the most transformative yet. It was a year of transitions. I pushed myself into places I didn’t think I belonged, checked a few bucket-list dreams off the page, and proved I could do hard things. But the real gifts : the conversations that changed me, the friendships that held me up, and the people who showed me that real love doesn’t ask you to become someone else or to shrink, real love holds space for you to grow. I’m marinating in gratitude for the road behind me and carrying a deep curiosity for what’s ahead. Every version of myself got me here, and for the first time in a long time, I’m not in a rush to be anywhere else. 47, I’m ready. Who knew a random off-day from tour in Nashville a few years ago with @thedavidshaw and @pjhow2 would have turned into this!! So proud to be a co-writer on Heart Stop and grateful to @therevivalists and their team for recording it and putting it out! 💜💜 I hope it can resonate with you in some way shape or form.
