At a later date, I may well decide that this video was an example of “when they go low, meet them in hell.” But for present purposes, what I will not do in Pride 2024 is tolerate a bitch-ass keyboard warrior questioning my manhood, even if said “warrior” happens to be related to me. As I said in the video, purple is my favorite color during pride because it’s the color of royalty and also the color of bruises. Many of us bruised queer folks became royalty out of necessity. We learned to be who we are, living out loud and proud, damn what may come. Resilience, courage, love, integrity, and bravery are the qualities that make “real” men and women regal. Anyone who thinks otherwise can pull up. While the tags may seem random, do know that I have tagged the people who live in their authenticity and inspire me everyday.
