POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Not the outcome we were waiting from Finnish Photo Awards 2026. Heljo placed 6th in the Wedding Portrait category and 9th in Wedding Documentary, and a couple of honorable mentions outside the finals. Tapsa secured 10th place in the Wedding Portrait category.

But the best part again was seeing our photographer friends, catching up after a busy season, sharing good food, drinks, laughter, and those conversations that remind you why this community is so special. Competitions are just one night. The friendships, inspiration, and shared passion for storytelling last far longer.

Here’s to the next season, new stories, and the people who make this craft worth pursuing. 🍷✨

📷 Thank You @sonjahietalaphotography for the 1st image.

Summer nights can look like this. Not bad, huh? 🫧🥂

📍 This is Aurora Birdhouse, a beautiful landscape cabin with a sauna, an outdoor jacuzzi, and a stunning panoramic window that makes you feel like you’re part of the landscape.

Our original plan was to leave Stora Svartö for Elisaari early to avoid the thunderstorm that might be coming at noon - but visibility was literally zero, and the thunder didn't show up either. Once we were able to see the island next to us again, we headed out, only to find that there wasn't much wind either - and soon the fog thickened again. However, about halfway across Porkkalanselkä we finally felt a gentle breeze and hoisted the sails. In no time, we were doing over 5 kts on very still waters, and soon enough the fog cleared too. Upon arriving in Elisaari, @wildernesscape cooked up a DELICIOUS meal with minimal ingredients, and then we went for some sauna and swimming.

Tomorrow Jussarö!

The Lone Warrior
Do you know what leads elephants to be out of their herds? Sometimes male elephants due to lack of strength or age are excluded from their herds and also accidently when a herd goes too far and one gets distracted, the lone warrior would keep the search on for its herd or either establish his family..

Oh, who is this flying beauty? 🪶 Spring and summer are great times for bird watching and photography in Arctic Giant.

🪺 Many types of birds nest and visit us: hawks, eagles, owls… Go hiking in old forests, breathe fresh air and listen to the soothing songs of birds.

🦉 When you stay at the Birdhouse cabin, you will find binoculars in the accommodation and you can spot interesting birds during your stay!

Do you recognize this bird from the pictures? 👀

What does your relaxing position look like? ✨🫶

When you are our guest, we want you to relax as much as possible. Lying in a comfy bed in front of a landscape window, enjoying sunset in a warm outdoor jacuzzi or pausing in the sauna late at night - you name it! ❤️

💦 An outdoor jacuzzi is available in six of our accommodations: Aurora Birdhouse (2 units), Luxury Birdhouse (2 units), Panoramic House and Arctic House.

🔥 A sauna is included in almost all of our accommodations. If you want to experience our special sauna moment, you can also book a 2-hour sauna session in the Forest sauna & experience.

Take time to just be.
