Officially Kyler Prinz, DNP, CRNA

Becoming a CRNA has been the hardest and most rewarding journey of my life. Out of nearly 5 million registered nurses in the United States, only about 10% work in the critical care setting, only around 3% go on to earn a doctoral degree, and only about 1% become CRNAs.

This journey demanded thousands of hours of studying, around 3000 hours of providing anesthesia, and nearly 1,000 anesthetic cases. It came with so much sacrifice missed holidays, family events, early mornings, late nights, exhaustion, stress, and plenty of self-doubt along the way.

I am incredibly proud and honored to join this elite group of doctoral-prepared nurses who provide the majority of anesthesia care across the United States and play such a critical role in keeping patients safe every single day.

I’m beyond grateful for the people who helped me get here. To my wife and my parents thank you for standing by me through every high and low and always believing in me, even during the moments I doubted myself.

And to all of the amazing CRNAs and Anesthesiologists who mentored, taught, challenged, and supported me throughout this journey I truly would not be here without you all. I’m forever thankful for every lesson, every opportunity, and every person who helped shape me into the provider I am today.
