As one season ends another begins. And with that I must say goodbye for now to new friends and say hello to some old friends.

A week on the river, and a lifetime of memories

No roads, no cell service, no problems—Just good people, 80 miles of wild and scenic river, amazing scenery, soaking up the sun, cold beers, cowboy camping, and the box.

Already dreaming of my next week away in the woods floating down the river 🏕️

Of course, all the river guides in this video have similar reasons to protect The Roadless Rule, but they each have unique stories as well, which they've included in their comments. When you comment on why The Roadless Rule should stay, (comment period ends Sept 21) take an extra moment and tell your story. Reminder: The Roadless Rule doesn't eliminate roads. It doesn't close or block access to existing roads and it doesn't prohibit motorized recreation. In fact, the inventoried roadless areas contain 7,201 miles of full-sized motorized trails and primitive roads, 2,494 miles of ATV and side-by-side trails, 2,167 miles of motorized singletrack trails, and 1,295 miles of snowmobile trails. And, Roadless areas are typically open to habitat improvement projects, hazardous fuels reduction, hunting, fishing, OHV riding, firewood cutting, grazing, and camping. Even energy projects, transmission lines, and mining development can be allowed. Lots of links in my bio to learn more and to comment.
