Baby Dino is finally here ❤️🦕
After getting induced on Tuesday Nov 4 with a really long couple days labor that was 90% vaginal, 5 hours of pushing, which ended up needing a C Section & a very traumatic experience overall- -we finally have our Baby Dino and are so in love. ❤️🦕

Born on the evening on Thursday Nov 6th

Have yet to process the trauma of the birth and not being able to fully experience him being born, but I will say every single Nurse and Doctor at Maine Med that was a part of our journey- I am so thankful for YOU! In those 6 days in the hospital, each one of you were on shift at the perfect time helping us for what we were going through in that specific moment. 🌼

And to our incredible Doula Kat @pinestatedoula - words cannot express how grateful I am to you every step of that oh so long way. I love you so much 😭

Nick- you are my hero. Forever in awe of you and your partnership. My human 🩵

The C section recovery is no joke, on top of a week of doc appts trying to get his weight up from a big drop- we’ve truly been in survival mode.
I always try to keep it real on here and remind myself 2 things can be true- postpartum is really hard AND we are so beyond thankful we are finally holding our son.

We’ve been waiting for you for so so long little love, thankful you are finally here 🥰

This one’s for the Home Video memory box 🥹- throwback to surprising our friends & family with the news that we are pregnant after so many years of trying. 🥰🥹

Going through years of infertility, I was so sad about the thought of not being able to surprise our family and friends- but in the end we still found a way 🥰 🎉.

Even though all these people knew we were going through IVF, we purposely kept them out of the loop of the Transfer timing- saying it was going to be later that it actually was, leading to an unexpected surprise 🥹 Makes my heart so happy- those who know me know I love surprises and to surprise people ✨

We all can’t wait to meet you baby boy so soon! Our little Embryo that could ❤️🦕

As hard as it is to look back & share all this- with Baby time approaching, it’s important to me to remember our journey and all it took to get us where we are today. ❤️🦕

To anyone still waiting for their little one, there is nothing I can say to make it better, but know you are seen and you are not alone ❤️

🎙️“Infertility is Grief, year after year, month after month.
Infertility is anger and frustration, sadness, depression, truly every raw emotion.
It’s no after no after no after no.
You lose yourself, you lose your sense of self, you feel numb.
You hurt.

It feels cruel and unfair and unexplainable.
You feel like you are forever behind, just watching the world pass you by.
It’s extremely challenging on a marriage and a partnership.
Having to put a mask on day to day, while you are really drowning on the inside.

Infertility is medicated cycles, IUIs, leading up to IVF.
It’s shots and bruises and hormones and blood work.
Pinched, poked, proded.

It’s the sense of hope that you feel time and time again, holding onto for dear life- to then have it just snatched out from underneath you again time after time.
It’s procedures, it’s doctors, it’s unexplainable.

It’s trying & trying again....and trying & trying again.

You feel robbed of the joy, of the innocence that comes with the idea of starting a family.
You feel betrayed by your body, you feel betrayed by society who’s told you one thing your whole life - and that thing doesn’t happen easily for you.

It’s also Hope, that hope part still stays, as much as she wants to give up. She stays, And she tries again.

And all that pain, and all that grief, and all that sadness-
Every shot, every tear-
It lead me to YOU,
And I would do it over and over a million times again Baby Boy
I would do it a million times again for You,

We get to meet you so soon. You are so loved and so so wanted.”  ❤️🦕

Reclaiming summers in adulthood has been an interesting experience.

I grew up going to Florida every summer from school’s end to school’s beginning until I was 17. I did not truly experience what Maine had to offer during the warmer months until I was a young adult. It’s been a strange part of my existence that I struggle to convey with meaning to anyone - but I’m working on it!

Historically, it has not been my most celebrated time in my life. I get weird once it gets above 75 degrees. This year, things felt different. I said “it’s such a beautiful day” out loud 10 times a day when it was in fact, a beautiful day. I stayed out riding my bike as the sun would set. I would force myself to go on walks even when it was “too hot” just to expose myself to feeling the uncomfortable trapped feeling that surges over my body in deep humidity.

August specifically was balanced, enjoyed, and soaked up in every way. I feel inspired to go into the rest of the year with less tension, more progress, and an open mind. 💛
