Titanic!
.
Swipe 👉 to see day version!
.
Finally here it is the poster of Titanic re-imagined by @samraj_agarwal & me ( @anigraphicsd )
.
We had a great time working together on this special piece, made in 2 versions night & day (what if Titanic Hit the Ice berg in day time?)
.
.
We took care of tiniest details that one can ever imagine of, we tried to add all the special elements from the movie in one poster, (from Rare Diamond to Ice berg you name it)
It's all in here.
.
We also added stars in the night sky as the scene took place at night & famous dialogue by Jack & Rose! To go by the theme! (" Where to Miss?" .. To the stars)
.
We worked for 3 hrs together on phone call 😅😅
.
Enjoy the poster!

Today on #alternateposterversewithsamraj @samraj_agarwal talks about #KingOfComedy
.
.
The King of Comedy released in 1982 is a movie about a person in his mid 30s who is desperately trying to get his own comedy TV show. On paper this does not sound like a Scorsese picture and maybe that’s why it’s often overlooked by pop culture fans who know him only as a gangster flick director. This movie might be devoid of violence but on a closer look it reveals itself to be a deep dive into the psyche of a lonely person much like Travis Bickle.

Robert DiNero gave one of his career best performances as Rupert Pupkin, a lonely comedian who just wants to be seen by the world on a stage and is willing to go to any limits to achieve that. We follow him through his journey of constant struggle, multiple rejections but an everlasting dedication as he navigates in the world of corporates, fame and celebrity worship.

As Roger Ebert rightly said in his 1983 review: “This movie is frustrating to watch, unpleasant to remember, and in its own way, quite effective.”

Today on #alternateposterversewithsamraj @samraj_agarwal talks about #TheyLive
.
.
Released in 1988, They Live is a classic sci-fi movie written and directed by John Carpenter. And it might just be the pulp-iest action movie set in a world where everything from government to police to even newspapers is run by a major network of corporations that is secretly controlled by aliens. And these skull-faced aliens can only be spotted through special sunglasses, which to be honest make for a pretty cool accessory.

With phrases scattered throughout the film such as, ‘Obey’, ‘Stay asleep’ and ‘Do Not question authority’ Carpenter makes it clear that this movie is a direct and loud response to the unrestrained capitalism, specifically targeting the Regan era economics.

More than thirty years later, the movie is still significant and tells a cautionary tale of how predatory capitalism ultimately controls everything in a nation and how it adversely affects the daily life of regular working class citizens.

Introducing a new segment today #AlternatePosterversewithSamraj . @samraj_agarwal will make posters thinks could be alternative posters to his favourite film/series! Today he talks about #DuncanJones ' #Moon
.
.
Moon (2009), written and directed by Duncan Jones is a film about solitude in space that deals with multiple themes of human existence such as isolation, identity, self doubt, family, purpose and exploitation. Moon uses the Sci-Fi setting to ultimately tell a very humane story carried out in a beautiful manner. With this poster I’ve tried to depict these themes with the help of multiple human figures in various shades of colour.

Taking inspiration from classics such as 2001: A Space Odyssey and Solaris, Jones creates a claustrophobic masterpiece that has its own unique atmospheric feel to it. Hence the central figure of the poster is the protagonist surrounded by nothing but the vastness of space. And the passage of time is depicted with the various Lunar phases in the title.

Sam Rockwell, who plays the protagonist Sam Bell, carried the film so well that it makes you appreciate how one actor can truly manipulate their personality for a film. Also how can we miss Gerty, one of the best AI characters to ever come to screen. Gerty knows a few things that are hidden from Sam just as he is hidden behind in the poster hiding his true face.

You might not love the film in an instant but it will slowly grow on you with time as it did with me. The soundtrack by Clint Mansell is something that will definitely stick with you for a long time. Best way to watch the movie is, alone on a dark cold night.

Ps.: Jones’ second film, ‘Mute’ has a small followup scene to Sam’s story. And if you didn't know, his full name is Duncan Zowie Haywood Jones and guess what rhymes with Zowie, yes Bowie. He's the son of the legendary singer David Bowie.
