#goingbacktothesource

I learnt about movies in #bombay , on sets where everything unfolded in real time. Saawariya, Jab We Met, Lage Raho Munna Bhai and English Vinglish taught me scale, and the strange magic of watching a moment take shape.

But another kind of #cinema kept pulling me to #kochi. Films like Maheshinte Prathikaaram, Meiyazhagan, Kumbalangi Nights, Brahmayugam, Thudarum and Njan Prakashan taught me how deeply the ordinary can move you. I grew to love the beautiful ecosystem behind these films. The writing, the preparation, the actors, the crews, the trust and the discipline that allows creative excellence to flourish. And an audience that notices the smallest detail and never needs to be told what to feel. No single teacher could have taught me all that.

My roots run through Mulki and Mattancherry, but #mattancherry did something more. It held my hand and showed me what home could look and feel like. Its streets, food, people, humour, faith, and warmth found their way into how I see stories.

So I’ve been busy going back to the source. Reading, writing, rewriting, travelling, listening, doing the homework, and being wonderfully pushed along by friends @shaneemz @aksarman @kashyapsmixtape @samrood_92 and a partner @baneeeen who keeps reminding me why I began.

I could keep going about the awe I carry for all of it. But for today, I think going back to the source can do the talking.

“Ithu Nalla Koothu” — a play inside a play.
A story of chaos, comedy, crushes…

As Sajeesh, the assistant director, I stood behind the scenes — managing egos, emotions, and my own silent love .

Grateful for every rehearsal, every laugh, every clap.
The stage doesn’t just build characters — it builds us. Forever grateful to @themuktiactingexperience for trusting me with Sajeesh and letting me grow with this beautiful chaos.
