POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I can’t remember ever deadlifting before signing up to do just that in front of hundreds of people at Drop Deadlift Gorgeous. But I’m so glad I did. It’s been a fun journey that, for me, has been less about building strength (though that too) and more about building confidence and form.

You have no idea how out of my element I felt pretty much until the day of the event lol (e.g, multiple strangers at Los taking pity on me to teach me how to safely un-rack weights). For someone who instinctively recoils toward shame, it’s been a great journey of overcoming that.

Proud of myself for surpassing my initial lifting goal again and again. And for my lil community for raising $1.2k. Thank you to everyone who supported me or donated—especially to @chrisdstedman for inspiring me to do it in the first place, to @ashhrray for a vital coaching session, and @samsched for being our unofficial leader of Homo Zoo (it felt even better doing this as a team!)

Every piece of crop art submitted for the Minnesota State Fair’s exhibit is displayed — as long as it adheres to the fair's crop art commandments.

Earlier this month, comedian Sam Schedler learned how to make crop art from the Minnesota State Fair's crop art assistant superintendent Marta Shore. While they worked on their pieces, Shore revealed a new commandment that will be instated for next year’s competition.

Earlier this month, comedian Sam Schedler sat down with the Minnesota State Fair's crop art assistant superintendent Marta Shore to learn her top tips for making crop art.

Crop art has been a part of the “Great Minnesota Get-Together” since 1965. Art pieces are made of Minnesota-grown seeds, crops and plants and are affixed to supporting backgrounds. The works of art are on display in the Agriculture Horticulture Building on the fairgrounds throughout the 12 days of the fair.

Shore has been making crop art since 2015 and has been the Assistant Superintendent for Crop Art and Scarecrow at the Minnesota State Fair since 2024.

Lift For Hope Was Incredible! 💪💜💙

Our 6th annual fundraiser for @AlexandraHouse was an incredible success today.

It was a celebration of strength and of caring for those who really need it. Every dollar raised goes directly to Alexandra House, supporting their vital services for people affected by domestic abuse and violence.

Today, 32 athletes came together across 5 lifting sessions - and set 16 PRs along the way! 🏆

As of this evening, our athletes have raised ⭐️$25,734⭐️ from 213 supporters and 3 sponsors.

(Thank you @headwaters_painting_llc @clearcreekdentalmn and @rosenbergcenter!)

👷‍♀️ None of it would’ve been possible without the 18 incredible volunteers who kept things running smoothly all day.

⭐️⭐️ We’re still accepting gifts through the end of the weekend - if you haven’t given yet (or want to add to what you’ve already given), now’s the time. Every dollar helps Alexandra House continue its life-changing work.

Thank you to everyone who lifted, donated, volunteered, and showed up. This community is capable of doing incredible things. 🙏
