Thank you all for another brilliant climbing meet-up at the awesome @theriseclimbingproject in Canning Town. We bid goodbye to our friend and go-to climbing instructor @simple.fred who is leaving for New Zealand at the end of the month and ate cake made by the talented @grifff0 in his honour. In classic generous style, Freddie pulled names from his @arcteryxuk hat and gifted 3 attendees books of punchcards to Rise, paid for from the proceeds of his “yard sale”. We also welcomed new facilitator @na.ami.

🧗For our next bouldering meet-up we are going to @blocfit for a climb and sauna. 13:00 Saturday 19 October. Sign up: https://bit.ly/WOCOct2024 (link in bio)

✨✨ We’ve finally recovered from the whirlwind that was the first-ever UK Climbing Festival for BPOC, and we’re still buzzing with pride and joy! 🤩🤩 A little late on the post, but we’ve been reflecting on the magic that happened ✨✨

Making history with all of you was beyond anything we could have imagined. The sense of community, the new friendships formed, and seeing so many of you still climbing together and supporting one another has been truly heartwarming 🥰

Thank you to everyone who joined us, volunteered, and poured their energy into this monumental event. Together, we’ve started something incredible, and this is just the beginning. Let’s keep climbing, keep connecting, and keep reclaiming the rocks! 🪨🧗🏿‍♀️✨

Over the coming weeks we’ll be sharing more memories from the festival and our gratitude for everyone who helped make it happen. Stay tuned 👀☺️💗

It was an absolute pleasure to work with these 4 wonderful individuals again.

I first met them back in September as part of @colourupbristol / @mtntraining / @teambmc project and so was excited to see the progress that they have made since then, on their journeys to becoming Climbing Wall Instructors.

Thanks to @redpointbristol for hosting and @cliftoncollegeuk for bringing along some students for them to teach.

Over the last two days it has been a real privilege to work on a joint project with @colourupbristol @mtntraining and @teambmc

6 keen individuals have now been trained as Climbing Wall Instructors and now have a program of supportive development to go through before attending an assessment.

Great thanks to @redpointbristol and @tca_thechurch for hosting us.
