40 years into this wild journey and I’ve learned that girlhood is a permanent membership. 💕

And, okay, I have a lot of really amazing Kens around too. A coordinated surprise cake dance!? I feel LOVED.

I didn’t plan a single part of this party and got to show up and be with some of my favorite humans.

Let people help you.
Let people love you.
Be vulnerable.
Tell people you love them.

Celebrate every chance you get. 💕

New cat alert. Listen. I’m not a cat person. I love dogs. But, there was a cat adoption event. There was this beautiful little Russian Blue named Josie.

I’m a sucker. And, she might be the sweetest cat that’s ever lived.

Welcome to the farm, Josie.

Our last day in the Redwoods was all magic. We took the Skunk Train to a hidden junction and went climbing, then jumped on the Eel River, sadly started the drive home, but made sure to hit The Peg House, which had a live band, a fun store and great food, and then made it home late enough for me to try a local Hazy and sleep. Goodbye, Redwoods. We should’ve just stayed.

2nd Day in the Redwoods was a lil’ dream. Walked through Elk Grove, found a waterfall, found a secret tree door for trolls (or Keeblers), the girls ran ahead and we walked out to see them playing a game which was adorable, walked the SkyWalk, saw some “animal lovers”, a red panda, Quinn became obsessed with a new book and the local beer is yumzzzzzzz!

Redwoods Day 1 was ridiculous. Drove the Avenue of the Giants. Stood under a tree you “could drive thru (you definitely could not but boy did they take my money!)”, went to Founders Grove, realized there’s really no photographic way to show just how huge the Redwoods are in person, avoided poison oak like the plague and ended up in Arcata WHERE THIER THEATER WAS SHOWING ‘A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN’ THE DAY AFTER WE’D BE LEAVING!!! I’ve never been so sad.

This kid. Officially ready for Kindergarten. She is a spitfire. A tiny genius. Huge emotions. She’s growing so fast and will one day most likely win The Hunger Games. So dang proud.

Happy Mother’s Day to this lady! All these pictures are of her being an absolute legend in our home, but this past year I’ve learned so much about how she’s been a “mother” to so many outside of our home. So many kids she’s helped grow from teens looking for a purpose to career-driven professionals who still look to her for guidance. Her loyalty and dedication to her kids and her “kids” is never ending. Selfless, strong, and a believer in potential, and I hope she’s showered with the love she deserves. At all times. Even from our dumb dogs. And cat. Yes, we have a cat. I don’t wanna talk about it.

Happy 3_ th birthday to this stunner who is always ready to fit in a bag! So proud of her for so many reasons but none more this year than building a small business out of thin air! Selling out workshops, getting invites to bookcons, and giving community to her fellow smut/dragon book lovers! Please go give @covertocoverbinding a follow and wish this human gift a happy BARFday!
