Who tf is Rookie Club? It’s just me, Amalia (she/her). I am a very new, but very passionate women’s basketball fan who wanted to share the creativity and fun that becoming a fan has given me. I’m from Minneapolis and live in Los Angeles, so naturally i love the Sparks but it will ALWAYS be Los Lynx til the wheels fall off. But i have no problem cheering for other teams, because all of these women are amazing.

I started watching the W during the 2025 season because i was so curious why so many of my friends were watching. My dad has been a fan since the very beginning of the league and it’s been so fun to FINALLY get to talk to him about it. I didn’t know a single thing about basketball when i started watching and the way i learned was by starting group chats with friends, asking the dumbest questions i could on social media and even chatting with strangers at the women’s sports bars i visited. Everyone was so helpful and eager to answer questions and i was amazed by the community i was joining. That’s why i started this project with a shirt that encourages more conversation!! ASK ME ABOUT WOMENS BASKETBALL!!!! ITS ALL I WANT TO TALK ABOUT!!!!

Outside of Rookie Club, I’m a big crafter (i made all of the shirts in these pics), movie lover, video gamer and professional auntie. I’m always up to something!! Thank you for all of the love and support in the first 2 weeks of Rookie Club. I hope i get to make your favorite fan gear ever.
