Remembering my friend "Malibu" Millie Decker, one of Malibu's original homesteaders back in the 1860s.

The Decker family lived off the land and grew their own vegetables and fruits, tended beehives, raised chickens, rabbits and ducks, and had horses and goats. It was the original farm-to-table, ‘living off the land’ location in Malibu!”

This groovy gentleman with the star-shaped glasses & the funky hat is indeed the legendary Bootsy Collins.
The first time I heard his music was when I was a kid - one of the records we owned was one made with his solo outfit: 'Bootsy’s Rubber Band' entitled: 'Ahh… the Name Is Bootsy, Baby' - it was released the same year I was born.
He is an influencer who actually continues to influence pop culture.
Rolling Stone magazine ranked him #4 in its list of the 50 greatest bassists of all time - A true icon of funk music!

Digging some of this NY grit...
Freemans Alley, off Rivington Street is
one of the Bowery's most prestigious and resilient street art (graffiti) destinations, a treasure trove of unsanctioned artwork!

And something I bet you didn't know: The Bowery is the birthplace of tap dance in America. In the mid-19th century, the Bowery was a melting pot of cultures and entertainment, housing numerous theaters and saloons where live performances were a staple. It was here, amidst African, Irish, and English cultural influences, that tap dance began to take shape, evolving from a variety of dance forms and rhythms brought by immigrants.
