Bronx 10 mile 🖤♥️ what a beautiful day for running. I was finally pain free from Erie marathon 6 days ago and my head was back in the running game. Still dealing with the breathing issues but I told myself let’s have some fun today. And fun was had! I started back in the later corrals, and focused on breathing smoothly. The first 3 miles are a lot of uphills so I ran on effort and didn’t once look at my watch. I felt in control, my legs still a little heavy but I couldn’t stop smiling. I picked up a little on the flatter portion, and coming around to the little mini hill I saw @asiantrailmix and they gave me a boost! After the next big hill at mile 7 I wondered what would I feel if I picked it up a little more. So I did. I was trailing behind this lady with some awesome calf muscles and I said if she can do it so can I! When I got closer to the final turn I felt like my legs were on fire but they were flying! Crossed the finish line in 1:25:22 and a negative split which was a great feeling! A little more rest and then it’s time to get on the hills to get ready for NYC marathon. And this race always reminds me of how far I’ve come, in 2022 I ran it before I had my knee surgery, tortured and in pain. Today, no knee pain at all. Grateful to be able to keep running! #bronx10mile @nyrr @samzo3000

It had been 18 months since @adelesetl last ran a marathon. We spent a lot of time training and racing other distances, anywhere from 3km cross country events to half marathons.

But the marathon bug always comes back to us and at 51, Adele had a mission to win the Longford Marathon - a plan we set into place in February earlier this year.

We trained over hills and through the rain. We trained through the wind and the hot summer days. We prepared as well as we could to be as strong as possible... and I couldn't have asked for a better segment.

Adele finished the race in an astonishing 2:56:15! A time nearly equal to what she ran 18 months prior (2:56:09). She navigated the rolling hills and demonstrated the perfect combination of patience and risk management.

Here's what makes this story even better. Adele debuted at this marathon in 2002. Her time was 4:01:30 back then!

Well done Adele!!

We’re headed back to the @nycmarathon!

Julia Paternain looks to make a wave at this year’s race. This will be her 4th marathon but her first effort at the NYC event. Meanwhile, Kamohelo Mofolo will be celebrating his 21st birthday with a jaunt around the city in what will be his second marathon!

We have Coach @dmont330 running his 24th straight NYC marathon - and a host of athletes aiming to find their best on Nov 1st.

Registration, however, will be $225 instead of $199.

Racing feels so much better when you’re not chafing from meandering gel packets or praying that safety pin stays put for another 10K.
