Part 3

We did some Drills to Disrupt his Timing in his Pre-work.

If your son flies open early, you don’t fix it by telling him to stay closed— Drills to exaggerate being closed can actually help him feel it.

There’s a Continuum. One end is Opening up too early. The other End is staying closed too Long.

Eventually we find our happy medium. But early on? We stay closed a little longer than usual, just to feel the difference.

Feel First. Then find the middle. That’s Pitch 3.

Create.Transfer.Finish

Comment TRAIN and I’ll show you Part 1 — riding the backside and staying in line.

Pitcher’s Tee work.

Hitters do Tee work before they ever take batting practice: Pitchers should warm up the same way.

Here it is with an MLB veteran who has played 20 years of professional baseball. We start stationary, front foot out, back foot out, and a few other drills, all to feel positions. Feel the arm up. Feel the release point out in front.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a 13-year-old or a 20-year pro. Before you move fast, you get your positions right slow.

Create. Transfer. Finish.

DM “UNLIMITED” to start.
