@senpaiswavey - 4/6 | 🥇 | 2kg Comp PR | WSO Records

Also a shout out to @kleanlikekirstyn @highdesertweightlifting & @a_heers @ted.thekilophysio for trusting us in the back! You guys crushed it 💪!!

I’m always so proud of how our athletes show up not just to perform, but also show up as good citizens of the sport. They help each other in the back, cheer for each other and their competitors, stick around to help, and not a single time have I EVER seen one of them go to another team to intentionally antagonize or demean their coaches or athletes.

Thank you to all the athletes who showed up, from our team, and from the other clubs who showed up with integrity and respect for the community and for the sport!

Also, a huge shout out to @eric.bramwell @azsportsperformanceacademy @powerandgrace.youth for running a great meet!

🤠 Everything is bigger in Texas!
The crew was smaller this year, but the totals were just as big!

🏋🏻‍♀️ @yl_weightlifting kicked us off Friday night. Her return to the National stage did NOT disappoint!! 6/6, an 8kg Comp PR Total, qualified for Sr Nationals at a new body weight category, broke her own club records, and EARNED ALL the swag - Cowboy Hat, Bolo Tie, a wristband, AND her first ever Open Division medals 😎
Snatch - 80kg
Clean & Jerk - 107kg 🥉
Total - 187kg 🥉

🏋🏻‍♀️ @elijahhpakk stepped up on Saturday. He’s been lifting less than 1 year, but he’s already making his mark! After a viscous callous tear on his second snatch, he had no choice but to grit his teeth, cowboy up, and fight through the pain. He responded with a 5/6 day, PR’s across the board, breaking his own club records, and stepping up HUGE when it mattered to grab a pair of medals himself!! One of the gutsiest performances I’ve ever seen 🤯
Snatch - 120kg
Clean & Jerk - 152kg 🥉
Total - 272kg 🥉

As always, it was also a pleasure to get to coach @sidless @longbeachweightlifting and to help @angiek82 @vehement.elite.athletics.vc with @noosa118 !! They both had incredible performances and I was honored to get to work with them again!

National weightlifting competition recap! Lifted in Fort Worth, Texas this past weekend 🤠

I had a 6/6 day, comp PRs all around and went home with 2 senior bronze medals in the Clean & jerk (107kg | 235lbs, + 3kg) and Total (187kg, +8kg to my best comp total)!! Also snatched 80kg | 176lbs for the first time on the big stage! 💃🥉🥉

I had my best performance to date but I can’t forget the time where all of this was just part of my vision board. The first video was during my senior year in high school, clean & jerking 30kg / 65lbs. I was proud of it then.. and am proud of it now! Beyond grateful for everything that this sport has taught me throughout the years. I feel so blessed to be able to continue perfecting my craft even through the toughest seasons of life 💕🏋️‍♀️

Thank you to everyone in my corner @sanctuarybarbell @jvezina_ @angiek82 and who have been here since day 1! 💗 special thanks to my bestie @emily.trader for hanging out in the back room with me, I had so much fun 🫶🏻

the first step to success is failure 🔐

behind all of those big lifts and PR’s are countless misses, long training hours, and work no one sees. apart of becoming a great athlete and competitor is learning to trust the process and understand that not every day is going to be your day. as much as bad competitions suck and training sessions where you miss “easy weights” frustrate you, the biggest challenge is overcoming it. this is something I’ve had to learn and a feeling I will always have to overcome. feeling very grateful to have @herathlete in my corner to support me through the mental challenge of weightlifting and also feeling very grateful to have this sport to teach me so many amazing lessons! ⚡️
