Forget everything you thought you knew about log cabins.

The next chapter of mountain living is anything but ordinary.

In Big Sky, the traditional log home is being reimagined through a more refined lens — where architectural heritage meets contemporary design, rich textures, curated furnishings, and an appreciation for exceptional craftsmanship.

I sat down with Sophia Cok, CEO of Sanctuary, to explore the possibilities of designing within a log home and how thoughtful interiors can completely transform the way a space looks, feels, and lives.

From warm, understated minimalism to richly layered Western interiors, there’s an art to balancing the character of a Montana home with a distinctly modern point of view.

The most remarkable homes aren’t simply furnished. They’re considered. Every material, every detail, every space tells a story.

And when it comes to creating something truly exceptional, who you know is just as important as what you envision.

A conversation on design, craftsmanship, and the evolving aesthetic of mountain living.

Welcome to Big Sky.

The art of living well starts with the spaces we create.

A conversation with Sophia, CEO of Sanctuary Interior Design, on the creative process, the projects that leave a lasting impression, and the details that make a home feel truly exceptional.

From concept to the finishing touches, there’s an art to creating spaces that feel as good as they look.

Left this conversation endlessly inspired by Sophia’s vision and the level of intention behind her work.

Good design. Great conversation. A shared appreciation for beautiful living.

A little inside look at the people shaping Montana’s design scene🤎

What is a Polaroid emulsion transfer art print?

The photograph is never printed.

Instead, I separate the delicate image layer from the Polaroid itself.

That floating emulsion is then transferred by hand using water.💧

It stretches.
It wrinkles.
Sometimes it tears.

Those “imperfections” become the artwork.

No Photoshop.
No AI effects.
Just chemistry, patience, and a little unpredictability.

Every piece is an original one of a kind.

Polaroid transfers are a unique expression of Fine Art Photography. Are you a collector who has heard of this form of experimental analog photography?
