@SceneNoise #NoiseNews: After announcing its Cairo homecoming with a showcase headlined by Ben UFO and Traumer, Sandbox Selects - the independent events series of Egypt’s Sandbox Festival - has revealed the lineup for its second Cairo showcase, set to take place on November 12th.

Taking over a warehouse at District 5, the second instalment will be headlined by Dixon, the German DJ and producer behind Berlin-based label Innervisions. A defining figure in the global electronic music circuit, Dixon has carved out a distinctive sound spanning deep house, melodic techno and electronica, delivering immersive sets built around emotive vocals, intricate progressions and slow-burning builds.

Joining him is Brooklyn-based DJ and producer Julya Karma, whose sound draws on an eclectic mix of classical piano, indie and psychedelic rock, and traditional Middle Eastern music, weaving these influences into melodic house and progressive rhythms.

The lineup also features German-Egyptian DJ and producer Mirshak, known for his groove-driven blend of Afro house, melodic house and techno, alongside Cairo-based selector Foutchy.

What keeps a festival relevant after twelve years?

Ahead of @sandboxfestival Selects’ first Amsterdam edition at @garagenoord during ADE, founder Tito El Kachab joins us to reflect on taking the festival’s DNA beyond Egypt without losing what made it work in the first place.

We also talk about Egypt’s electronic scene, controlled growth, selector culture, and why the human element still matters more than scale.

@SceneNoise #NoiseNews: Egypt’s Sandbox Festival is bringing its intimate party series, Sandbox Selects, to its hometown of Cairo on November 6th.

Taking over a warehouse in District 5, the event will be headlined by London-born DJ and Hessle Audio co-founder Ben UFO, renowned for his adventurous, wide-ranging approach to contemporary dance music. Rooted in UK rave culture, his sets traverse early dubstep and drum ’n’ bass, moving between house, techno and more left-field club sounds. He’ll be joined by French DJ and producer Traumer, whose expansive catalogue and distinctive sound have made him a defining name in the modern minimal and house scenes.

The line-up also features local favourites Tito B2B Aly B, Joey B2B Messery, and Youla. The event marks the first instalment of a two-part Cairo showcase for Sandbox Selects.

An offshoot of Nacelle’s annual multi-day festival in El Gouna, Sandbox Selects brings the spirit of its flagship event to smaller, more intimate dancefloors. Building on the community Nacelle has cultivated over the past 12 years, the series takes Sandbox’s ethos beyond the Red Sea and closer to home.

@SceneNoise #NoiseNews: Egypt’s Sandbox festival is taking its beloved independent event series, Sandbox Selects, to Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) for the first time on October 22nd.

Running from October 21–25, ADE is a five-day gathering spanning electronic music’s festival, conference and industry worlds, with more than 1,200 events taking place across Amsterdam in 2026. Since launching in 1996, it has grown into a major global meeting point for artists, industry professionals and electronic music communities.

Taking place at Garage Nord, the party will welcome acclaimed Canadian house selector and producer Andre Zimmer for a back-to-back set with Egyptian house staple Misty. The lineup also features charismatic British DJ and producer Anthea, known for her funk-fuelled sets spanning minimal, deep house and techno, alongside Berlin-based Courtesy and local favourites Aly Goede and Jess.

An offshoot of Sandbox, Nacelle’s annual multi-day showpiece festival in El Gouna, Egypt, Sandbox Selects takes a decidedly more intimate approach: a one-day tribute and treat for, and by, the community Nacelle has built over the last 12 years.

Tickets are available via Amsterdam Dance Event’s official website.
