We asked friends of HAP to tell us small thing hotels did for them that made a big difference, and 150 answers landed in less than a day. Spoier: Not one of them was a spa menu or a private jet transfer or anything you’d find on a rate sheet.

Instead: a cup of coffee handed over at 5:30 a.m. in the Zimbabwean bush, an owner in St. Croix showing up with his own hair product, and a whole lemon Caprese cake, boxed by a Michelin-starred chef, because someone asked to buy a single slice for the road—among so many others.

Swipe through for seven hotels doing the little things better than anyone else and let us know your stories in the comments.

For more travel inspo, comment “LITTLE” and we’ll send you the full feature in HAP Weekly, written by @staceyleasca.
