New Mini Mission: James Bond is known for his one liners & quips - Did you know that history’s first one liner was “Solvitur Ambulando”? According to legend, the Greek philosopher Diogenes the Cynic responded to Zeno’s paradoxes (which argued that motion is an illusion) simply by standing up and pacing back and forth across the room, announcing “Solvitur Ambulando - It is solved by walking”. Very Bond-ian! Tune in! Links in the Bio!

Last month I went to a James Bond fan even themed around the 1979 Bond film Moonraker in Newtown, PA, a place we’ve had many events before. This was hosted by @thebondexperience and he gave away a bunch of goodies like clothes, books, magazines, toys, collectibles, posters and artwork. I took a ton of stuff to add to my collection. The focus of the event was of course a screening of Moonraker at the Newtown Theater, the oldest running theater in the country. This was my second time seeing a Bond film there, we had a screening of Thunderball in August of last year. Like last year with Thunderball, this was an upscaled version of Moonraker in 4K with updated sound as well. It looked and sounded great and it was my first time seeing Moonraker on a big screen. There’s something different about watching a Bond film with other fans because we get all the details and little jokes and celebratory moments. A lot of people dressed up with their versions of the different outfits Roger Moore wore in the film and various other characters like Jaws, Dolly and the main villain Hugo Drax. After the film we headed down the street to Temperance House, a historic Inn and tavern where we usually gather after events we have out there and some people stay there. This was a fun time and sharing these moments with great friends makes it that much better. #jamesbond #007 #moonraker #rogermoore #jamesbondfan

Training like Bond in real life isn’t martinis and Aston Martins.
It’s a rifle in hand, a pistol on the hip, and seamless transitions when the primary goes down.
Magazine changes on the move.
Cover work off a rusty barrel.
No wasted motion. No panic.
The movies make it look stylish.
The range makes it automatic.
Stay ready.

We had a blast in Newtown, PA! The much anticipated Golden Bullet Awards at @triplesunspirits_newtown was a celebration indeed! It was an honor to be amongst the nominees aka friends. Then going to outer space at the @newtowntheatre to see Moonraker was pure treat! Drinks, food, and goodies galore; we loved being in the theater with all of you. Thank you Roland and David for these festivities and celebrations. Once more, we had an absolute BLAST in Newtown, PA!

The main events of the weekend were out of this world, to say the least.

The Golden Bullet Awards, hosted by @rolandhulme, were held on Saturday evening. It was great to be able to get together to socialize and celebrate creators within the Bond Community. Congratulations again to all of the nominees and winners!

The weekend capped off on Sunday evening with a Happy Hour and a showing of Moonraker, all hosted by @thebondexperience at the Newtown Theater.

It was an outstanding weekend to see Gatherall regulars, as well as get to know others whom I haven't had the opportunity to chat with at previous events.
