AWESOME: Currently, Sandia star Kaiyah Benally has 10 D1 offers! The reigning New Mexico Gatorade Player of the Year is also the top prospect in New Mexico’s 2028 class (per Prep Girls Hoops). We got some talented hoopers in NM! Photos provided by Lucy Limón (@flicsbylucy ) #newmexico #albuquerque #basketball #highschoolbasketball #collegebasketball

Ashton’s basketball season did not go as planned. In the first game of the season, he and one of his teammates got tangled up resulting in Ash breaking his radius bone in his left arm. Ashton worked so hard for 11 weeks to make a come back and finish the season with his teammates. In his first game back, Ashton went for a loose ball and broke it again resulting in surgery. Through all of this, Ashton has remained so positive. Whether he was on the sidelines supporting his teammates or working to get stronger he kept a smile on his face. He has shown such resilience and I am so very proud of him. This season did not go how we had hoped but I know he will only come back stronger. Thankful for family, friends, Sandia’s coaches, Coach Ryan @whoispikejones and Coach T and Ashton’s teammates for their support. He gets his 3rd cast off next week and he will continue working hard to be ready for an amazing next season 🏀 Highlight was getting one of his favorite Kansas basketball players signatures @flory_bidunga on his cast. Love you @ash.casas505 So very proud of you! Keep shining ☀️
