THIS SATURDAY 2 PM!! ✏️

Join us!! 🖤

Data can be a way of looking at the world.

Over the years, some of my work has been published by TASCHEN in volumes dedicated to infographics and data visualization; books that move across science, culture, society, history and many other territories of human knowledge.

I’m particularly proud to have been selected by TASCHEN and to see my work become part of these collections, alongside projects and authors I deeply admire.

Different subjects, different scales, different visual languages. What connects them is the attempt to make complexity visible, and to use design as a tool for understanding.

Books have shaped how we think of design at G/I. Good design is not merely a matter of colors or aesthetic appearance.

Good design is a theoretical practice: the underlying language that defines how users experience a product or service as a social function. Design must be informative, useful, and interactive. Our work is to inform for public utility.

We partner with founders, executives, and the next generation of leaders to manage organizations through the lens of intentional, high-functioning design.

These are the foundational texts that have largely influenced our organizational management and work.

Dear Friends,

By now you’ve followed the studio month — the artist talk, the dinner, the spontaneous visits, and finally the Vernissage & Sommerparty on July 2nd. Thank you for all of it. It was the perfect close to a month that was as intense as it was inspiring: Philipp and I worked side by side, Monday to Friday, on the same paper, in the same rhythm — and we’re still a little in awe of what came out of it.

For everyone who couldn’t make it but has been curious about the work — swipe through for a selection of the pieces @philippdeines and I @bettinakrieg created during this short, intense stretch of time.

And if you’d like to see the originals in person, there’s still time:

Opening hours this Saturday: 12–4 PM

Or by appointment during the week — just reach out to Sandra Rendgen @zelt.berlin at rendgen@zelt.berlin. The works will stay up through mid-August.

One note: we’ll be on summer break from July 14 to August 2, and the gallery will be closed during that time.

A month of shared work, shared space, shared time.

Since June 3rd, @philippdeines and @bettinakrieg have been working side by side — a residency generously offered by @sandra.rendgen in the gallery spaces of @zelt.berlin at @aufbau_haus, which we transformed into a shared studio for the duration of the month. Together we created works on paper: abstract landscapes built from watercolour and ink, growing slowly over four weeks.

Midway through, we opened our doors for an evening — not a finished show, but a first look into the process. Friends, works still in progress, conversations that ran long into a warm summer night on the terrace outside the gallery.

A heartfelt thank you to Désirée Bühler of @vedaily__berlin for her invaluable advice and inspiration around the dinner.

The Vernissage is on July 2nd. Come see where it all landed.

From me to you and back

Zelt Berlin is hosting the first joint artist residency of Bettina Krieg and Philipp Deines — from June 3 to July 2, 2026.

Seven years in the making, and now it’s happening: Bettina Krieg and Philipp Deines are opening a temporary studio at Zelt Berlin to create a series of works on paper together.

Both artists work in a carefully calibrated visual language, often in large-scale formats on paper. The drawing process is slow and meticulous, with an extraordinary attention to detail. Bettina Krieg, trained at the University of the Arts Berlin, develops rhythmic line formations that create a dynamic, oscillating texture on the surface of the paper.

Philipp Deines, draughtsman and graphic novelist, is a master of ambiguous landscapes. His large-scale nature scenes explore extraordinarily nuanced colour spaces in watercolour, built through a multi-layered process of washing and colouring. Though Deines works with a light palette, his scenes carry an unsettled, at times apocalyptic atmosphere.

An intense study of nature and a time-consuming artistic process form a clear parallel between the two — and so the desire to work together emerged: What happens when I open my artistic practice to another? When I give up control? When I set impulses and respond to them?

Zelt Berlin now offers a space for this experiment in shared artistic practice.

🗓 Artist Talk with Philipp Deines & Bettina Krieg — June 10, 6–8 pm
🗓 Finissage with presentation of new works — July 2, 6 pm
🗓 Studio visits — drop in or by appointment, Mon–Fri 10 am–4 pm

📍 Zelt Berlin, Prinzenstr. 85 C, 10969 Berlin
