I TALKED ABOUT @hedislimane INTERVIEWED BY @susiebubble PART 2 日本語のテキストは2枚目の画像のキャプションをご覧ください。 From these experiences, I feel that one of Hedi’s greatest appeals is his “contemporary documentarian approach.” His clothing design, much like the photographs he takes, is intimately connected to reality and exists as an extension of real people. “Blood Luster” remains an essential archive piece for the “Hedi Boys” who are re-emerging today. By the way, Luke Thomas also designed the logo for “SEI LIBRARY.” Moving into his Celine era, my opportunities for interviews expanded further. Starting with an interview with the members of LA FEMME, many others began to open up and agree to speak with me. For instance, when I met Jack Kilmer in Tokyo, I asked him about the Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2016 campaign. His story about how “Hedi just called me out of the blue while I was at home and said, ‘Let’s take some photos’” left a strong impression on me. I also heard from models about the production of the collection videos during and after the pandemic. They mentioned that the shoots were repeated over and over, reflecting Hedi’s rigorous, uncompromising commitment to his vision. Furthermore, there are individuals like Brandon from the California-based band Sands, or the Philadelphia-based artist Rentboy, who are both models and close personal friends of Hedi. Through them, it becomes clear how deeply he loves music and youth culture. David Kramer, a Brooklyn-based artist, is another example. He provided artwork for the Spring/Summer 2020 collection, receiving an offer from Hedi. Moreover, Hedi does not just look at well-known names; he also turns his attention to artists who create work alongside their musical activities. For the Spring/Summer 2022 collection, the work of Australian artist J MAHON (who was performing under the name Emerson Snowe at the time) was incorporated into the designs. Even back in his Dior days, Hedi was editing and presenting the works of contemporary artists like Ryan McGinley for a Dazed project. His love for art has been consistent from the very beginning. Out of pure spite and boredom I made these. With my own pictures. In less than an hour. Not once did I think “this would be so much easier with Generative AI”. Because I’m not an inconsiderate twat with no creativity. Support REAL Artists, love your local bands, REFUSE AI and take advantage of the opportunities you have to be part of a community! I tagged some of my favorite artists who are entirely self made and don’t use janky ass AI flyers. Love you all x x Here’s some mooooooore: I love them all @roadtrip.band @braymores @west22ndband @dayweran @edgehillband @ashestoamber @wheres__west @blair_gun_band (A LOT OF THEM ARE ON TOUR RN)
