Happy Monday everyone🫶 We hope you all had a very lovely Mother’s Day yesterday!

•

We’ve just welcomed some beautiful new textile cushions into the gallery under our Pole Star Textiles collection. Full of colour, character and carefully handmade using wonderful quality fabrics, each one brings such a playful charm to a space.🧵

•

Inspired by the animals and landscapes around us here in the Lake District, these designs feature some familiar countryside friends and sit so happily amongst the other artists’ work around the gallery.🐑

•

They come in a variety of colours and patterns, with many complementary designs if you would like to create a matching pair. Lots of beautiful combinations to choose from.🪡

•

Do pop in and have a look next time you are in Keswick. They really do brighten up the room.🌻

WARM HUES

Art and craft as a warm, inviting hug!
We just love to find linking colours, not matching, but connecting, telling a story.
From the warm wood of Jonathan Vaiksaars boxes (top right) , through golden jewellery by Rebecca Halstead, a tiny painting by Sarah Heppner, simple paper cut posies by Hannah Nunn and corten steel garden sculpture from Mark Butlee, to this big joyous floral painting by Sandy Powell.

Come and explore….we are teeming with gifts for all budgets. Open 10.30-4.30 every day!

🎁 This season we’re delighted to feature 'Echoes of Light' by Sandy Powell in our Christmas Edit — an abstract painting which reflects a moment of intuitive creation, bringing warmth and serenity to any interior.

Sandy Powell's contemplative, expressive abstracts are grounded in a connection with nature and the world around. Her work blends subtle texture with bold colour play, creating pieces that feel both meditative and alive — artworks that settle beautifully into any thoughtful, design-led space.

We’re so happy to welcome the lovely Sandy A Powell to the Saltbox family of artists!
Kate met Sandy on her recent trip to the Wimbledon Art Fair. Her work really shone out, so warmly colourful and joyous!

Sandy's paintings serve as a bridge between the abstract and the reality, navigating the delicate balance between the chaos and the calm, darkness and light.

With an intuitive approach and expressive brushwork she layers acrylics to construct a visual language that evolves with vibrant palettes and dynamic compositions, culminating in a harmonious blend of balance and authenticity.

The two larger paintings, at 90x90cm each, would make such a decorative statement in any home.

Can you choose?

Do look out for our wall of Summer Florals coming next month!

Wimbledon Art Studios Fair is always inked into our calendar. We love catching up with some of our artists we have the great pleasure working with, as well as discovering new talents.

This art studio haven with 180 creatives and makers runs a show twice a year where they open their studios to the public to showcase their latest work available to buy. What makes this such a special art fair is that one meets the artist in their place of work and see where the magic happens. 🖌 ✨

There is such a vibrant community feel to these studios and brimmed with exceptional talent from exciting emerging talents to well established artists - it is for sure one of our favourite art shows in London to visit.

The fair is open today and tomorrow from 11am - 6pm and it's free! although we always leave a donation to support the incredible work the team at the studios do supporting their artists. More details can be found @theopenstudios_artshow @wimbledon_art_studios
