🔥 Phulkari - R.K. Mehndi x Sangra Vibes 🎶

One of those underrated Punjabi gems from the era when UK producers were giving Punjabi music a completely fresh sound. Released in 2010 on The Hits Factory Vol. 1, “Phulkari” featured the vocals of R.K. Mehndi, lyrics by Amrit, and production by Sangra Vibes. 💿❤️

🎧 Sangra Vibes @sangravibes — Gopi Sangra & Mani Sangra — were a unique production duo from the UK Asian music scene, known for their fresh, forward-thinking approach and distinctive fusion of Punjabi sounds with modern UK production. Their work on projects such as Unleashed earned them recognition among Bhangra listeners and producers.

Sadly, Mani Sangra passed away in 2009, but Gopi Sangra continues the musical journey and keeps the Sangra Vibes name alive. ❤️ His continued work and production remind us that the sound they created back then still has a place today — and we’re hoping to hear some more bangers from the Sangra Vibes house soon! 🔥🎶

The tunes I grew up with, off albums full of bangers, the blueprint of everything, from dunya origins to current mixes.

I didn’t have wifi at home til I was 16 (😭) and I used to have notepads covered in ‘songs to download’ that I’d heard off the radio and tv. That turned into digging on Limewire and Bhangra message boards to fill my iTunes up… and now I do the same, just with Rekordbox

This one’s called FIRST FLIGHT by DES-C, and it’s also the FIRST TIME, I’m posting about this title!!

Released in 2009, on the TOOFAN RECORDS label, this 15 track album (including one intro), features music by:

I remember when @descworld first hit the scene, and was releasing some funky songs, with funky videos & funky dance moves. There was something unique about him.

And then a couple of years later he was performing at the Preston Mela, with a full live band, and absolutely smashed it!! Although the music style was different to his style on his album & songs; it worked and suited him.

He got the crowd hyped up, and I remember he was good banter whilst performing KEE BANU DUNIYA DA.

I can’t remember who all the members of the band were, but I know RAJA SAAB & JASPAL SINGH were 2 of them.

Not sure if DES-C is still involved in the Bhangra industry, but you can still get your hands on this CD, by messaging me for the eBay link, which is difficult to find nowadays.
