POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Carried by Love, Led by God. 🤍

From the bottom of my heart, thank you!! My heart has been so full these past few weeks. Words cannot express how grateful I am for every message, encouragement, letter, gift, and most especially, your prayers and blessings.

As I reflect on almost five years in Canada, I can only thank the Lord for His goodness and faithfulness. I will carry with me all your love, advice, prayers, and the memories we’ve shared.

This may be a new season, but not a goodbye. Just allow me to trust my Heavenly Father, not only in the Philippines, but wherever He continues to lead me. May it all be for His glory.

For now, I’ll say, “See you all again! Let’s keep in touch and I love to stay updated with each other’s lives.

And Philippines and my Fam, see you in a bit!! 🇵🇭 Mabuhay!! Gilas Pilipinas! Laban, Pinas! 😂

God bless us all, and may the Lord always keep us safe. I love you all! ❤️❤️

This post has been a long time coming, sitting in my drafts for almost two months now. I could blame it on the fact that I’ve rarely had a second of downtime while exploring this wonderful world, but the truth is, I never fully allowed myself to reflect on the impact this experience had on me. How meaningful it was to be back in a space I had left for so long & how substantial it was to do so alongside these individuals.

I am grateful every day for the opportunity to return to an art form I dedicated so many of my early years towards. Without going too in depth (because this anecdote requires proper care that an Instagram caption cannot grant it), after 17 years of intense training in this sport, I decided to leave entirely at 18, never hoping to reappear in this industry. Following years of dance being my greatest passion in life, I abandoned it with a burning hatred, a desire to never go back to the place that led me to so much pain.

Returning to the competitive stage was both the most challenging and rewarding accomplishment of my life. I questioned my decision constantly, worried it was too large of a task often & was terrified more times than I would like to admit, but it was the team of support surrounding me that encouraged me to continue despite the noise inside me.

Modus Mechanix truly took me for all that I was: my self-doubt in my ability, my overwhelm when I couldn’t get the choreography right, my frustration when I felt I wasn’t putting out my best self, my exhaustion from the long practices, hours & runs, but most importantly, this group made me feel like none of my shortcomings compared to the hard work I had put in for years. I genuinely have never felt so accepted in everything that I am as a dancer & this is something I will never take for granted.

(If you’d like to continue reading, more will be featured in the comments below! No pressure 😆🤍)
