I'm jen and....welcome to #meetthegardener. Thank you for the nomination @lamagardener and @stirlingjking,  I'm not sure why I stay friends with you guys when I get nominated for complicated stuff like this! For very many years, I had a patch of grass with a trampoline on it, a nettle and thistle infested lawn a pile of broken up concrete,  and an out of control garden. If you only have 30 minutes to sort your garden out, and you have to pick up dog poo before you cut the grass, you don't get time for very much else! Eventually I put on my big girls pants, laid carpet and rugs over the lawn and barrowed 3 tonnes of welsh slate to cover the lawn. Paid a man to rip out the existing garden and my son designed the pergola and decks. His dad came to help build it all and suddenly I had a garden. I learnt the hard way what works and what doesn't! I have millions of favourite plants, but if I have to choose one it's the daffodils. After the endless grey of the long nights, and cold the daffodils just scream hang in there, better days are coming! Least favourite plant unlike some people I like crocosmia,  its bomb proof, slug resistant,  bindweed resistant and I like orange! At the moment I really dislike the lavatera,  they are supposed to be short lived plants. Mine are trees and have to come out this year! Why I garden... I garden now the way I want to, I like constant colour,  I like looking out of my kitchen window to a constantly changing view. I like pots and baskets and change the planting twice a year, it's sort of like interior design for gardens! I do summer bedding,  baskets and dahlias,  and winter pots with spring bulbs underneath. It clears my head, instantly winds me down,  and allows a creativity I didn't know I had. My garden wishlist.... at the moment, fish for a water feature,  another water feature and an elephant.  A big sexy moulin rouge type one built of sedums! Favourite floral scent, sweet peas. Nothing else smells like a bunch of sweet peas the fragrance is just awesome. So that's me,  not long a gardener, generally just enjoying the space I made.
