Hybrid No. 00305152021 was acquired for permanent display at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. ➡️👀📸 of display. Accompanying the piece is a photo of my grandmother, Mar, my bestie’s grandmother, Miss Essie Rolle, a Roland Rose photo Straw Lady in Cat Island courtesy of the D’Aguilar Art Foundation and a photo of the Straw market from Caribbean Photos Archive. It’s taken a minute to gather my feelings around this career highlight and I am still processing BUT I am beyond happy! Extremely grateful that I was granted the opportunity to shine a light on the work of the people that inspire me and continue to support. Thank you to the many that contributed to making this happen! 🇧🇸🙏🏾🩵💛🖤To the people making something from nothing. #NMAAHC #MAJORmoment #242totheworld #careerhighlight
