A happiest 20th anniversary to the masterpiece that is Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King! The trilogy of films honestly changed my life and continue to inspire me today. They are collectively my favorite of all time. But if I had to pick one - ROTK is it. It taught me a lot over the years, maybe even more so now than ever before. The most powerful thing being that it taught me to hope- even if it was “only a fool’s hope”. What is your favorite scene from Return of the King?

“You saw there was a child. You saw my son.” 🍃
•
This scene in Return of the King moves me on a whole other level, and I cry watching it. Arwen had a chance for a life free from death and darkness, but chose to put her faith in a beautiful potential, but uncertain, future. She chose to love and believe in something, which isn’t often the easiest or most logical path.
