*~~… ⚡️🙏⚡️ @sapppattack … when I was struck by lightning, I left my body and watched my body from above… it was shaking/convulsing from the lightning… i died and went into a pure white space where this symbol was the only thing… and these 8 words repeated themselves infinitely… the white space was outside of space/time… “WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE HOW CAUSE INFLECTION REFLECTION” over and over and over… then I said the words & saying them, brought me back into my body… the symbol and words is at the center of how I reWrite reality and also activate this particular lightning medicine with others… there is different ceremonies/activations/offerings/etc. … they all center with this symbol and words ⚡️🙏⚡️ …~~*

My mind is still processing…

I couldn’t put this conference into one sentence — let alone one page in my head — even if I tried.

Not just the lectures, but the connections and NORWAC overall were:

Inspiring
Mind-blowing
Eye-opening
Synchronistic
Surprising
Touching
Empowering
Mirroring
Hopeful
Magical
Fiery
(And many more that I will not mention, at least for now)

I’m currently going through a Saturn–Sun opposition, and a lot of hierarchy themes came up for me. But I was genuinely blown away by @nightlightastrology (Adam) and @sfreynolds who really brought humanity, heart, and humility in a way that felt groundbreaking considering what’s going on in the world right now. It’s rare in a male dominated field (like so many others).

@kaytaylorwisdom always hits it home with her compassion, brilliance, and ability to heal through her words and presence.

But thankful for the entire experience, the people, and the wisdom I’ve gained just from the mirror that was this weekend 💛

“Share the Scraps”

A piece we made for Wynde Dyers show back in 2016
and to think of these darlings is no longer
with us 🌹🌈

We wore tiny hats to represent the housing crisis.
Painted with leftover livingroom paint. Later these hats would go to city counsel and rallies for affordable housing.

At the show Wynde sold beautiful tarp quilt priced at the amount a persons’ rent increased.

Excerpt from the show:
A new kind of sharing economy—as opposed to the so-called corporate “sharing economy” of Uber, Airlonb, and the ilk—wherein individuals with very little financial capital utilize their social and creative capital, and on-hand skills and resources, to engage in small-scale philanthropic efforts to help those adversely impacted by income inequality.

“What if, just what if, what if maybe we all came together around the idea of sharing our scraps in ways that are doable, immediate, direct, and sustainable? What if maybe, just maybe, we could help those less-advantaged in small ways that makes traversing these changing times just a little bit less alone and just a little bit easier for all of us?”

Central to this project is a Native American story I’ve held close to my heart for years. In times of recent I’ve needed to remind myself of it regularly, often just to make it through another days. The story goes something like this: A wise old man who says to his grandson, “Son, there are two wolves fighting inside of me. One is the wolf of hate and fear, the other is the wolf of love and hope.” The little boy asks, “Which wolf wins?” The wise man answers, “The one I feed.” Sharing the Scraps is about feeding the love and hope wolf, and starving out the fear and hate wolf, because there are only enough scraps for one victor in this fight.

The studio is looking handsome and I’m here to show it off. Our house burnt and we had to move everything fast. Suddenly, without walls, the studio took on a lot of our hangables. It’s a tiny glimmer of light in this chaotic time, this art bringing new life and energy to the studio. I’ve got a safe space of creativity. This is good. Reach out with your tattoo ideas. There’s always room for more art. A colorful tattoo studio in North Portland. There is a cloud hanging from the ceiling.
