From celebrating two years with @leggomyrego in Houston, Rodeo Houston time with the family, enjoying spring running weather, UH in March Madness, World Baseball Classic, Miami Open, Marlins Opening Day, to celebrating an addition to the Sarabia family, you can say it was an eventful month 🙏🏽

Even though the Coogs didn’t win, gameday with the family is always a fun time.

want to thank everyone who has reached out with well wishes, thoughtful gestures and genuine concern.

The last 48 hours have been difficult to say the least. Losing both my grandmothers within a 17 hour period of time was not surprising or unexpected because of their declining health and age, but nothing really prepares you for it. You always want more time and ideally some time in between to grieve each individually as they both deserve. But, it’s not about us they leave behind, it’s about their peace and comfort which is what they both have now.

Their deaths on the same day brought both sides of my family closer together in an already unique bond that started when my 2 aunts and our “adopted” aunt became best friends in high school 53 years ago. That 53-year friendship also existed between both my grandmothers or comadres as they called each other and was made stronger because of their unconditional love for me.

Here is a picture of 53 years of friendship, love and grieving together from yesterday, August 18, 2023. Missing are my mother and 2 aunts.

Celebrated @jaredbia08 and @jus10sarabia’s birthday at the new @homerundugout out in Katy. Being a baseball family, it was of course an @astros themed party. Thanks to @sandy_uh for a great time!

My aunt @sarabia6 found this gem from one of my early trips to my great-grandfather’s ranch outside San Antonio. Even back then my Popo and I had a solid relationship as evidence by him holding me. I was a cute, chubby little nugget. ❤️! #family #texas #ranchdays #alwayshisfavorite #love
